  • Patent number: 7100579
Abstract: Fuel injection equipment is provided which realizes characteristics of fuel injection proper for all over the operation range of an engine, can further reduce nitrogen oxide(NOx) emission, and is high in mechanical durability. The fuel injection equipment for an internal combustion engine comprises an injection pump having a plunger part and a fuel passage equipped with a main electromagnetic valve, a fuel supply part for supplying the fuel to the fuel injection pump, a fuel injection pipe for sending the fuel to an injection nozzle part, and a secondary electromagnetic valve attached to an overflow pipe for returning to said fuel supply part the redundant fuel not to be injected from said unit injector, wherein an orifice is attached to said overflow pipe.

  • Patent number: 6810320
Abstract: An apparatus diagnoses and controls combustion of an internal combustion engine which makes smooth operation of an engine possible by adjusting the combustion condition at the occurrence of knock, misfire, and flame quenching and also makes it possible to detect the occurrence of abnormality in cylinder pressure detectors without delay and deal with the abnormality without stopping the operation of the engine. A maximum pressure ratio Pp/P0 is calculated, Pp being the maximum cylinder pressure and P0 being the compression pressure at one or a plurality of crank angles in the compression stroke Pp/P0 is compared with pressure ratios for each diagnosis category, the combustion conditions are diagnosed by judging the result of the comparison every cycle or plural cycles.

The apparatus comprises a means to calculate the maximum pressure ratio Pp/P0, Pp being the maximum cylinder pressure, P0 being the compression pressure at one or a plurality of crank angles in the compression stroke, a means to compare said Pp/P0 with pressure ratios (threshold pressure ratios) predetermined for each of diagnosis categories, and a means(step) to diagnose the combustion condition such as cylinder pressure by judging the result of said comparison every cycle or every plural cycle.

  • Publication number: 20020148451
Abstract: A gas injection device in which an tunnel-like inner room is formed by surrounding with an inner wall, the inner room is communicated to the intake air flow passage of the intake pipe to allow the intake air to flow through the inner room, the inner wall is surrounded with an outer wall to form between the inner wall and outer wall an outer gas chamber into which fuel gas is introduced, and gas injection holes are provided in the inner wall to permit the gas in the outer gas chamber to sprout out from the injection holes into the air stream flowing through the inner room. The inner room may be partitioned into a plurality of tunnel-like rooms to correspond to the number of the intake air passages in the cylinder head.
