  • Patent number: 8963912
Abstract: The present invention is an active matrix display device in which, during each kth period (k is an integer from 0 to n), each data signal line (S1to S2773) is supplied with a signal whose electric potential polarity is constant, and a picture element to which a signal finishes being written within the kth period is caused to be in a selected state from a (k?1)th period to the kth period so as to be conductive to a data signal line connected thereto, and during each kth period (1?k?n?1) for the effective display region, a data signal line (S1 or S2773) that is not connected to a picture element to which a signal finishes being written within the kth period is supplied with a signal that was supplied to this data signal line during the (k?1)th period.

  • Publication number: 20120256975
Abstract: The present invention realizes a liquid crystal display device which can carry out overshoot driving in accordance with a picture element area. Picture elements can be classified into types depending on their picture element areas such that, in a case where display of a first tone (T0) by picture elements is shifted to a second tone (T1) different from the first tone through a plurality of frames, within a range of input tone data corresponding to the first tone and a range of input tone data corresponding to the second tone, a picture element of a type with a larger picture element area exhibits a larger difference in electric potential of a data signal corresponding to display of the second tone between an initial frame (F1) out of the plurality of frames and frames during which display is in a steady state (T1) out of the plurality of frames.
