  • Patent number: 8967712
Abstract: A skin for a seat back of a vehicle seat includes a rear upper piece arranged on the upper rear surface of the seat back, and a rear lower piece arranged on the lower rear surface of the seat back. The rear upper piece has a rear upper piece pocket portion that extends downward in front of the rear lower piece. A left end portion, a right end portion, and a lower end portion of the rear upper piece pocket portion are sewn to the rear lower piece to form a pocket, and an opening of the pocket is formed between the upper end portion of the rear upper piece pocket portion and the rear lower piece. The rear upper piece and the rear lower piece are sewn together at a seam that extends laterally from the opening of the pocket.

  • Patent number: 5464167
Abstract: A tape transport is disclosed which is for use with a magnetic tape cassette. Under some specific thermal conditions the tape cassette may develop gaps between the reel hubs and the tape rolls thereon, such gaps being likely to lead to the jamming of the tape through the hunting of a tape speed control servo built into the tape transport. Therefore, for removing the gaps, the reels are successively rotated in a direction for winding up the tape, after the tape cassette has been loaded in the tape transport and before reading or writing. Preferably, the pair of reels are simultaneously rotated in opposite directions for taking up a possible tape slack between the reels prior to gap removal.

  • Patent number: 5410224
Abstract: A magnetic tape transport having a pair of reel motors for bidirectionally driving a tape between a pair of reels within a cassette housing, and a pair of tension control transistors for controllably varying supply voltages across the respective reel motors. For holding the tape under tension when it is at rest, against the possibility of tape displacement regardless of varying tape roll diameters on both reels, the output pulses of a tape speed sensor are directed through a bidirectional counter into a digital to analog converter, so that the latter provides a voltage output that varies linearly in magnitude as the tape travels from one extremity toward the other. This variable voltage output from the converter is applied through a tension control circuit to the pair of tension control transistors whenever the tape is stopped. Standstill tape tension is thus controlled by varying the voltages impressed to both reel motors according to the current ratio of tape roll diameters on both reels.

  • Patent number: 5356088
Abstract: A cassette tape transport has a tape speed control servo for driving either of a pair of tape drive motors at constant speed in response to tape speed pulses from a tape speed sensor. Upon development of a tape slack, as manifested by a decrease in the recurrence rate of the tape speed pulses, the tape speed control servo is overridden, and the pair of drive motors are simultaneously energized for rotating the cassette reels in opposite directions, thereby stretching the tape between the reels until the slack is removed. The tape transport has a microcomputer which may be factory preprogrammed to include a slack takeup routine. The microcomputer starts the slack takeup routine not only upon decrease in the recurrence rate of the tape speed pulses but also when the tape cassette is loaded in the tape transport and when no tape speed pulse is produced for a predetermined length of time.

  • Patent number: 5229898
Abstract: A control system for a magnetic tape cassette apparatus of the type requiring no movement of a transducer for the establishment of data transfer contact with the tape cassette. Inserted lengthwise in the apparatus, the tape cassette has its apertured front side oriented toward the fixed transducer. A cassette shift mechanism subsequently moves the tape cassette in its own plane into data transfer contact with the transducer. Then a pair of tape transport spindles are moved into driving engagement with the tape cassette by a tape transport shift mechanism. Both cassette shift mechanism and tape transport shift mechanism are actuated by a motor driven dual control cam under the control of a digital microprocessor controller.
