    Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an antimicrobial fiber having a diameter of approximately 10 to 30 ?m that is superior in surface smoothness, transparency, and others, and a method for producing the same thereof. Provided is an antimicrobial fiber, comprising a transparent resin, an antimicrobial glass, and inorganic particles as a dispersant of the antimicrobial glass, wherein a diameter of the antimicrobial fiber is in the range of 10 to 30 ?m, an average particle size of the antimicrobial glass is in the range of 0.1 to 10 ?m, an addition quantity of the antimicrobial glass is in the range of 0.1 to 10% by weight with respect to the total weight, an average particle size of the inorganic particles is in the range of 1 to 15 ?m, and an addition quantity of the inorganic particles is in the range of 0.1 to 50 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the addition quantity of the antimicrobial glass.
