  • Patent number: 5202603
Abstract: A color cathode ray tube apparatus is provided with an electron gun assembly which emits three electron beams and focuses and converges the electron beam onto a phosphor screen. In the gun assembly, the electron beams generated from cathodes are accelerated and controlled by first and second grids and pass through third, fourth and fifth grids. The third and fourth grids have single rectangular apertures common to the three electron beams, respectively, which are faced to each other and have different heights and widths. Each of the fourth and fifth grids have individual apertures which allow the corresponding electron beams to pass therethrough, respectively. The third and fifth grids is maintained at fixed potentials and a potential of the fourth grid is adjusted. Thus, individual focusing and convergence electron lenses are formed between the fourth and fifth grids.

  • Patent number: 5077497
Abstract: A cathode ray tube having an electron gun assembly in which a plurality of electrodes constitute an electron beam generating unit for generating electron beams, and an electron lens unit for focusing the generated beams on a predetermined location on a phosphor screen. The electron gun assembly further contains a pair of insulating support rods for supporting the electrodes, a resistor unit for applying a voltage to at least one of the electrodes. • Patent number: 5034652
Abstract: An electron gun for a color-picture tube includes adjacent low and high potential electrodes composing an electron lens, which electrodes have electron beam path holes horizonally formed with electric-field correcting members or raised portions. According to this construction, vertical equipotential lines are projected into the electrode so that the low potential electrode adds to electron beams a vertical focusing effect more strongly than a horizontal one and the high potential electrode adds to electron beams a vertical divergent effect more strongly than a horizontal one. The section of the electron beam in a deflection region has an ellipse shape whose major axis extends horizontally, resulting in suppressing a halo portion on the screen. The electron beam is properly focused horizontally and vertically so that the electron beam spot has a circular shape on the center of a screen.

  • Patent number: 4945284
Abstract: An electron gun for color-picture tube device comprises a final accelerating electrode and a focusing electrode divided into plural electrode units in the axial direction of the tube. A first focusing electrode unit adjacent to the final accelerating electrode is connected to a second focusing electrode unit adjacent to the first focusing electrode unit through a resistor. A focusing voltage being change in synchronous with the deflection of an electron beam is applied to the first focusing electrode unit. The resistor is used for removing the a.c. components from the focusing voltage. Then, the removed focusing voltage is applied to the second focusing electrode. For the electron beam deflected on the peripheral part of the screen, a quadrupole lens is formed. On the first focusing electrode unit side opposite to the second focusing electrode unit are formed first electron beam path holes whose major axes extend horizontally.

  • Patent number: 4935663
Abstract: In an electron gun assembly, three electron beams emitted from cathodes are passed through an electrode arrangement in which two intermediate electrodes are arranged between focusing are accelerating electrodes. A focusing voltage which is varied depending on an deflection of the electron beam is applied to the focusing electrode and an accelerating voltage is applied to the accelerating electrode. A resistor is connected between the accelerating electrode and the earth through a variable resistor and intermediate points of the resistor are connected to the intermediate electrodes. Thus, convergent and divergent lenses are formed between the focusing electrode and the intermediate electrode and between the accelerating electrode and the intermediate electrode. The lens powers of the convergent and divergent lenses are varied in accordance with the adjustment of the variable resistor.

  • Patent number: 4885505
Abstract: In an electron gun assembly, three electron beams emitted from cathode are focused by focusing electrodes and directed to accelerating electrodes through intermediate electrode. Three electron beams are converged on a predetermined point near a screen by accelerating electrodes. The accelerating electrodes are supplied with a first potential and are connected to a ground through a resistor and a stem pin. The intermediate electrodes are connected to the resistor and are maintained at a second potential. The focusing electrodes are connected to another stem pin and supplied with a third potential through another stem pin so that the third potential can be independently adjusted.
