  • Patent number: 9361902
Abstract: The present technique relates to an earhole-wearable sound collection device, a signal processing device, and a sound collection method for realizing sound collection at a high S/N ratio with reduced noise influence, regardless of noise reduction methods such as the SS method. In the earhole-wearable sound collection device, a microphone that collects emitted speech voice is provided in a space that is substantially sealed off from outside and connects to an ear canal of the wearer, so that emitted speech voice propagating through the ear canal of the wearer is collected. A noise cancelling unit that reduces noise propagating in the internal space having the microphone located therein is further provided to improve the S/N ratio of emitted speech voice collection signals. Further, an equalizing process for reducing the muffled sound generated when the emitted speech voice propagating through the ear canal is collected is performed on the sound collection signal from the microphone.

  • Publication number: 20160127825
Abstract: The present technique relates to an earhole-wearable sound collection device, a signal processing device, and a sound collection method for realizing sound collection at a high S/N ratio, with noise influence being reduced not by a noise reduction process. In the earhole-wearable sound collection device, a microphone that collects emitted speech voice is provided in a space that is substantially sealed off from outside and connects to an ear canal of the wearer (the speaker). With the microphone being located in the space sealed off from outside, emitted speech voice that propagates through the ear canal of the wearer is collected. In a sound collection signal obtained through the ear canal, the emitted speech voice component is dominant over the noise component particularly at low frequencies. Therefore, the S/N ratio of an emitted speech voice collection signal can be improved by extracting the low-frequency component of the sound collection signal with the use of a LPF, for example.

  • Publication number: 20140314245
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a headphone device, a terminal device, an information transmitting method, a program, and a headphone system capable of reducing a process burden of parameter control in a noise canceling process of the headphone device. In the terminal device capable of communicating with the headphone device, a parameter appropriate for the noise canceling process is determined based on analysis of noise from outside and position information and indication information to indicate a processing parameter related to the noise canceling process in the headphone device is generated. This is transmitted to the headphone device side. In the headphone device, a processing parameter of the noise canceling process is set according to the indication information. According to this, a process to determine an optimal parameter of the noise canceling process on the headphone device side is not required.

  • Publication number: 20120207318
Abstract: A sound signal output apparatus includes: a wearing state determination unit which determines whether or not a connected speaker apparatus is fitted to an ear of a user; a volume adjustment unit which adjusts volume of a sound signal to be supplied to the speaker apparatus; and an accumulative computation unit which computes an accumulative value of output volume in accordance with a volume level and sound output time of the sound signal, causes the volume adjustment unit to execute volume regulation when the accumulative value reaches a regulatory value, and does not compute the accumulative value during a period in which the wearing state determination unit determines that the speaker apparatus is not fitted to the ear.
