  • Patent number: 5084967
Abstract: A dry shaver has a trimmer plate with a trimmer cutter at its upper end. The trimmer plate is slidably mounted on a vertically elongated front face of a shaver housing with the trimmer cutter projecting forwardly of the housing. The trimmer plate is pivotally connected at its lower end to a slider handle also slidable on the front face such that the trimmer plate is vertically movable together therewith along the front face between a lower inoperative position where it is kept lain flat against the front face and an upper operative position where it is pivoted into an inclined condition with respect to the front face so as to project the trimmer cutter forwardly by a greater distance from the front face than at the lower inoperative position.

  • Patent number: 4845847
Abstract: An electric shaver has a shaving head and a trimmer handle mounting at its top a trimmer block. The trimmer handle is in the form of a flat plate slidably attached to a flat surface on the outer wall of a shaver housing for vertical movement between an inoperative position and an operative position. Formed in the inner surface of the flat plate trimmer handle is a shallow recess within which is located a trimmer drive interconnecting the trimmer block and a main drive element for the shaving head in order to drive the trimmer block from the same source as the shaving head. The trimmer block includes a stationary blade and a movable blade which define therebetween a cutting plane in parallel relation to the plane of the trimmer handle. This arrangement is to reduce the dimension of the trimmer block and the thickness of the trimmer handle.

  • Patent number: 4660283
Abstract: A dynamically balanced apparatus having a reciprocating member includes an eccentric shaft operatively connected to a motor output shaft, and a drive member operatively connecting the eccentric shaft to the reciprocating member for driving the reciprocating member upon rotation of the eccentric shaft. An eccentric flyweight is mounted on the output shaft to be rotatable therewith for canceling the vibration or inertia force developed by the motion of the reciprocating member. Also included in the apparatus is a vibrator also driven by the eccentric shaft to vibrate in a direction perpendicular to the reciprocating direction. For eliminating the vibration inherently arising from the rotation of the eccentric shaft and acting in the direction perpendicular to the reciprocating direction, at least one counterweight is carried on the vibrator to be movable therewith for canceling such inherent vibration in the direction questioned.

  • Patent number: 4451980
Abstract: Chargeable electric instrument of watertight housing capable of still discharging abnormally generated gas or liquid from built-in storage battery. The instrument includes a gas discharging valve means provided at an open end of a storage-battery casing, a cap means fixed to the casing for liquid-tightly enclosing the open end and valve means, a charge current feeding means provided in an end part of the housing, and a gas or liquid flow-path means made through the cap means and housing while preventing an entry of any fluid from the exterior, whereby any explosive gas internally generated can be effectively discharged through the valve, cap and flow-path means to the exterior.

  • Patent number: 4397616
Abstract: A pump driving mechanism of this applications is formed by supporting a piston body 3 provided with a piston rod 9 and an elastic arm 18 movable in directions vertical to reciprocally moving directions of the piston body, between respective free ends of a pair of elastic leg pieces 16 and 17 fixed at one end and freed at the other end, and connecting an eccentric shaft 23 driven to be rotated by a motor 22 to a shaft bearing 21 formed at a free end of the elastic arm 18, whereby a low noise reciprocating movement within a cylinder 14 is provided to a piston rod 9 by rotations of the eccentric shaft 23.

  • Patent number: 4380869
Abstract: An electric shaver of a reciprocating drive type having a trimmer blade comprises a housing and an outer blade frame detachably mounted onto the upper portion of the housing. A trimmer blade assembly is mounted to the housing so as to be protrusile outward of the housing. A switch plate is provided on the housing so that three stop positions may be selectively assumed, in which the third position is allotted to enable the trimmer blade assembly to be protruded in cooperation with a trimmer lever, while a driving force is afforded to both the main blade and the trimmer blade assembly. A cleaning operation portion is further provided on the housing so that the same may be operated independently of the switch plate. The cleaning operation portion acts on the trimmer lever to enable the trimmer blade assembly to be protruded outward, with the same in an intact state of not being driven by a motor.
