  • Patent number: 11248816
Abstract: An air conditioner which continues driving with a deteriorated gas leakage sensor is provided. An air conditioner of the present invention includes an outdoor unit including a compressor and an indoor unit connected with the outdoor unit and uses flammable refrigerant. The air conditioner includes: a refrigerant gas sensor; and a controlling unit configured to stop the compressor at occurrence of abnormality, when the refrigerant gas sensor detects refrigerant gas while the compressor is being driven. After the compressor is stopped as the refrigerant gas sensor detects the refrigerant gas, the controlling unit does not start driving of the compressor until an operation to cancel the abnormality is performed.

  • Patent number: 10753631
Abstract: When a service technician or the like performs maintenance of a mechanism in an indoor unit, the service technician may accidentally detach a refrigerant gas sensor and the refrigerant gas sensor may be broken. To prevent this, communication pipes (regulating members) configured to regulate the detachment of a refrigerant gas sensor are provided on the side toward which the refrigerant gas sensor is detached (front side) when a casing provided on the side toward which the refrigerant gas sensor is detached (front side) is open.

  • Patent number: 10605479
Abstract: An air-conditioning system having exceptional security is provided. An air-conditioning system comprises a plurality of indoor units installed in a target space, a controller configured and arranged to control the actions of the plurality of indoor units, and a refrigerant leakage sensor configured and arranged to sense refrigerant leakage in the target space. Each of the indoor units has indoor fan. When the refrigerant leakage sensor has sensed refrigerant leakage, the controller configured and arranged to cause the indoor fan of the indoor unit that has received a refrigerant leakage signal to be driven at a predetermined first rotation speed, and cause the indoor fan of other indoor unit (emergency group indoor units) belonging to the same group as the aforementioned indoor unit to be driven at a predetermined second rotation speed.

  • Patent number: 10126012
Abstract: An air conditioner which is able to prevent leaked refrigerant gas from disadvantageously stagnating at a part of a room space when leakage of refrigerant gas occurs in an indoor unit is provided. An air conditioner of the present invention includes an indoor unit having an upper outlet port and a lower outlet port and uses flammable refrigerant, the air conditioner including: a shutter provided at the lower outlet port and is configured to switch between a blowout capable state in which wind is blown out and a blowout incapable state in which no wind is blown out; a refrigerant gas sensor provided in the indoor unit, and a controlling unit configured to control the shutter. In a driving state in which the lower outlet port is in the blowout incapable state, when the refrigerant gas sensor detects the refrigerant gas, the controlling unit switches the lower outlet port from the blowout incapable state to the blowout capable state.

  • Publication number: 20170336092
Abstract: A refrigerant gas sensor is typically attached so that an opening for introducing leaked refrigerant gas into the inside faces upward. With this arrangement, however, a small amount of a different gas such as propane and pesticide, which is sucked from the outside of an air conditioner, may be erroneously recognized as refrigerant gas. On this account, a refrigerant gas sensor 9 includes a detecting element 61 for detecting leakage of refrigerant gas and a casing member 62 provided to surround the detecting element 61. The casing member 62 has a casing opening (first opening) 62a through which the refrigerant gas is introduced into the inside of the casing member 62. The casing opening (first opening) 62a is below the detecting element 61.
