  • Patent number: 8247639
Abstract: An absorbent article 1 has an extensible absorbent member 4 and is extensible as a whole. The absorbent member 4 has three-dimensionally dispersed therein a large number of small absorbent clusters 10a or 10b containing a superabsorbent polymer 11 and fibers 12, 13, 14. The small clusters 10a or 10b are dispersively arranged in a web containing crimped fibers. The small clusters include those composed of a superabsorbent polymer particle 11 and a large number of fibers 12 adhered to the particle 11 and those composed of a helically crimped fiber 13, a superabsorbent polymer particle 11, and fibers 14, the polymer particle 11 and the fibers 14 being taken into the helix of the crimped fiber 13.

  • Patent number: 7972985
Abstract: A nonwoven fabric 10 has a first layer 1 containing crimped fibers 11. In the layer 1, the crimped fibers gather in parts to form a large number of fiber clusters 12 that are distributed all over the layer 1. The clusters 12 interconnect to each other to form a network structure in the layer 1. The nonwoven fabric 10 further has another fiber layer as a second layer 2 disposed on a side of the first layer 1. The two layers are partly joined at a large number of joints 3. The second layer 2 protrudes outwardly between the joints 3 to form a large number of protrusions 20.

  • Patent number: 7504553
Abstract: An absorbent article having a topsheet 2, a backsheet 3, and an absorbent member 4 interposed between the topsheet 2 and the backsheet 3 is disclosed. The absorbent member 4 has a number of compressed parts 7 which are discrete from one another and concave on the backsheet facing side and/or the topsheet facing side. The compressed part is configured to increase in thickness on absorbing liquid. The compressed part is made up of a thinnest portion 8 and a sloping portion 9. The sloping portion a gradually changes in thickness to connect to the thinnest portion 8.

  • Patent number: 7452834
Abstract: A fibrous sheet containing cotton fibers and at least two kinds of synthetic fibers is disclosed. The synthetic fibers form a nonwoven fabric. The cotton fibers enter a fiber network of the nonwoven fabric and interlace with the fiber network thereby to form a cotton fiber layer on one side of the nonwoven fabric, with part of the cotton fiber layer entering the nonwoven fabric. The synthetic fibers contain a combination of heat fusible fiber (a) and heat fusible fiber (b) having a small thickness than the fiber (a) or a combination of the fiber (a) and a fiber (c) that is not thermally bonded with the fiber (a).

  • Patent number: 7432412
Abstract: An absorbent article having a substantially oblong rectangular absorbent body A composed of a topsheet 2, a backsheet 3, and an absorbent core 4 between the topsheet 2 and the backsheet 3. The absorbent article further has a pair of side sheets 5 as leak preventive side members on its skin facing side C of the absorbent body A. The leak preventive side members have a pattern P printed with ink in a configuration such that the printed ink is substantially kept away from contact with the skin of a wearer.

  • Publication number: 20080108962
Abstract: A topsheet for use on the skin facing side of an absorbent article. The topsheet includes a first nonwoven fabric layer 1 and a second nonwoven fabric layer 2 laminated and partly joined together by heat fusion bonding, forming fusion bonds 4. The first nonwoven fabric layer 1 forms a large number of projections 5 projecting toward the skin of a wearer in portions other than the fusion bonds 4. The projections 5 are arranged discretely in both a first planar direction (direction X) and a second planar direction perpendicular to the first planar direction (direction Y). The individual projections 5 are filled with staple fiber 3. The staple fiber 3 is substantially absent in the fusion bonds 4. The individual projections 5 of the topsheet have fiber densities in the following relationship: first nonwoven fabric layer 1<the staple fiber 3<the second nonwoven fabric layer 2.

  • Publication number: 20070156107
Abstract: An absorbent sheet 10 of the invention is a thin sheet having a first surface 10A and a second surface 10B and containing a fibrous material 11 and superabsorbent polymer particles 12. The polymer particles 12 are dispersed in the thickness direction of the absorbent sheet 10 in a state of being held by the fibrous material 11. When the portion in the thickness direction of the absorbent sheet 10 where the polymer particles 12 are dispersed is divided into regions by at least one plane perpendicular to the thickness direction of the sheet 10, the average particle size of the superabsorbent polymer particles 12 dispersed in each region decreases from the region that is the nearest to the first surface 10A to the region that is the nearest to the second surface 10B of the absorbent sheet.
