Abstract: A forced-air cooling apparatus is provided for a steam turbine which comprises an outer casing composed of upper and lower casing halves, an inner casing composed of upper and lower casing halves and disposed inside the outer casing and a rotor coaxially disposed inside the inner casing for forming a steam flow passage between the inner casing and the rotor and in which steam introduced into the steam flow passage from a steam inlet portion is impinged against blades of the rotor to impart a turning force thereto as a movable portion such as rotor with respect to a stationary portion such as an inner casing.

Abstract: A device for draining pressurized liquid from a steam turbine to a low pressure reservoir. The device comprises: an inlet container and an outlet container for storing liquid in their lower parts; drain lines for conveying liquid from the steam turbine to an upper part of the inlet container; a first pipe for maintaining the inlet container at a higher pressure than the outlet container with a head of a first liquid column which leads the liquid from the lower part of the inlet container to the upper part of the outlet container; and a second pipe for maintaining the outlet container at a higher pressure than the low pressure reservoir with a head of a second liquid column which leads the liquid from the lower part of the outlet container to the low pressure reservoir.

Abstract: In a low pressure steam turbine which is constructed by an inner casing for supporting a rotatable turbine blade and an outer casing for supporting the inner casing, the outer casing is provided with a guide plate for causing the steam to flow laterally outward from the sides of the outer casing.
