  • Publication number: 20090009525
Abstract: A color adjustment device (100) comprises an image characteristic amount acquiring unit (10), a specific-color-area determination unit (20), and a color compensation unit (30). The image characteristic amount acquiring unit (10) acquires the image characteristic amount of an input image from the average luminance or additional information of the input image. The specific-color-area determination unit (20) determines a specific color area based on the image characteristic amount. With reference to the specific color area, the color compensation unit (30) calculates the degree of similarity of the input color of the input image to the specific color, and performs the color adjustment of the input color of the input image with respect to at least one specific color. The area of the input image which is comparatively wide and possesses a color of the same system as the specific color is not wrongly recognized as the area of the specific color.

  • Publication number: 20080218636
Abstract: A specific color-adjusting stage adjusts data of an inputted color with respect to a specific color. A total color-adjusting stage adjusts the data of the inputted color with respect to a total color. The specific color-adjusting stage and the total color-adjusting stage are provided in parallel. A composing unit composes linearly an output of the specific color-adjusting stage and an output of the total color-adjusting stage. When a degree that the total color-adjusting stage adjusts the data of the inputted color increases, then a degree that the specific color-adjusting stage adjusts the data of the inputted color decreases, and vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20080174605
Abstract: On the display screen of a video signal display device, when the emission amount is monotonically lowered toward the screen periphery from a certain point (screen center), if there are a plurality of regions that viewers notice easily (such as faces), then correction by monotically decreasing the emission amount cannot always raise the signal level in the regions that are noticed, and it may not be possible to obtain a sufficient sense of brightness.

  • Patent number: 7397470
Abstract: A display controller includes a video signal-analyzing unit, a video signal-adjusting unit operable to receive a video signal, to adjust the video signal in accordance with adjustment parameter information, and to feed the adjusted video signal into a display device, and a light source-controlling unit operable to feed a light source-controlling signal into a light source in accordance with light source light-emitting amount information. The video signal-analyzing unit allows timing in which the display device displays a picture in accordance with the adjusted video signal from the video signal-adjusting unit to be synchronized with timing in which the light source changes a light-emitting amount in response to the light source-controlling signal from the light source-controlling unit.

  • Patent number: 7199776
Abstract: There is provided a correlation between adjustment of luminance of a LCD and adjustment of luminance of a backlight. Luminance average value “Iave” is determined from display data. Luminance maximum value “I1max” in a macro area is determined from the display data. Luminance is adjusted with reference to luminance-transformed luminance. In luminance transformation, slope average “r1” in a range of 0?I<Iave, slope average “r2” in a range of Iave?I<I1max, and slope average “r3” in a range of I?I1max establish a relationship of r1?r2>r3 in an area defined by a horizontal axis showing luminance “I” and a vertical axis showing luminance-transformed luminance “I#”.

  • Patent number: 6987498
Abstract: A pseudo-tone processing means color-reduces each RGB component of incoming display data using pseudo-tone processing. A frame memory stores the color-reduced display data before feeding it to a display through a drive means. Color reduction is performed so that the tone number of each RGB component after color reduction is G component>R component>B component. Color reduction is unequally performed in a manner which reflects contributions of each RGB component to brightness.

  • Publication number: 20050128497
Abstract: Colorimetry values when a display unit displays tone signals R(i), G(i) and B(i) (where a number i is a tone value; 1<i<n) are acquired. The colorimetry values are defined using a device independent color of a CIE-XYZ color space, and are composed of three attributes X (i), Y (i) and Z (i). Calculation based on the three attributes is performed to generate a tone profile, that is, an adjusting condition. Utilizing the tone profile, a tone-adjusting unit adjusts color data. Color temperature is kept flat, color reproducibility in halftone (for example, a skin color of a natural image) and display quality can be improved.

  • Patent number: 6683953
Abstract: Instead of immediately encrypting a plain text, a n-bit plain text is first converted to a m-bit of expanded plain text in order to limit the weight of the plain text to w, and that expanded plain text is then encrypted. By first converting the plain text to the expanded plain text wherein the weight has been limited, a smaller modulus can be used, and therefore the rate (or encryption efficiency) rises.
