  • Patent number: 6245935
Abstract: A method for producing an isocyanatoalkyl (meth)acrylate substantially free of hydrolyzable chloride, comprising adding an amine and/or an imidazole and an epoxy group-containing compound and then purifying by distillation the isocyanatoalkyl (meth)acrylate until a 2-chloropropionic acid isocyanatoalkyl ester of an isocyanatoalkyl acrylate or a 2-methyl-2-chloropropionic acid isocyanatoalkyl ester of an isocyanatoalkyl methacrylate is substantially eliminated.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 12, 2001
    Assignee: Showa Denko Kabushiki Kaisha
Inventors: Naoaki Misu, Shinya Matsuhira, Muneyo Kihara, Yutaka Ohnishi
  • Patent number: 6027705
Abstract: A method for producing tri- or higher-silane from mono- or lower-silane characterized by reacting a lower silane in the first reaction zone and reacting a portion or all of the reaction product thereof in a reaction zone of the second or subsequent reaction zone.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 30, 1998
Date of Patent: February 22, 2000

  • Patent number: 4743707
Abstract: A process for purifying allyl alcohol, comprising adding at least one member selected from the group consisting of dipotassium hydrogenphosphate, potassium phosphate, potassium pyrophosphate, potassium tripolyphosphate and potassium carbonate to an aqueous solution of allyl alcohol to separate the solution into an aqueous phase and an organic phase, removing the aqueous phase, and optionally subjecting the organic phase to distillation to obtain allyl alcohol having a high purity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 20, 1986
Date of Patent: May 10, 1988
    Assignee: Showa Denko Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventor: Shinya Matsuhira
  • Patent number: 4568699
Abstract: A catalyst comprising a combination of rhodium, iridium and lithium supported on a carrier having a specific surface area of more than 150 m.sup.2 /g is disclosed for producing two carbon atom oxygenerated compounds from carbon monoxide. The catalyst has high catalytic activity and high selectivity to acetic acid.

  • Patent number: 4420420
Abstract: A rhodium catalyst containing supported rhodium metal omnipresent in the surface layer or in the neighborhood of the surface layer of the particles of a silica or titania type support is presented. This catalyst is prepared by a method (i) in which the support is dipped into an aqueous solution of a water-soluble rhodium salt previously adjusted to pH of at least 10, followed by the drying and reduction, or a method (ii) in which the support is first dipped into an aqueous solution of a water-soluble rhodium salt having a pH of 1 or less and, then, dipped into an aqueous alkaline solution containing an alkaline compound in an amount sufficient to neutralize the acid impregnated in the support and also sufficient to convert the rhodium salt impregnated in the support into rhodium hydroxide, followed by the drying and reduction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 14, 1982
Date of Patent: December 13, 1983
    Assignee: Showa Denko Kabushiki Kaisha
