  • Publication number: 20230395248
Abstract: Data samples derived from raw physiological data captured by sensors of a wearable medical device monitoring a patient's heart, such as a first ECG channel data sample, a second ECG channel data sample, and/or a cardio-vibrational data sample, are applied to a multi-tier machine learning engine to determine a cardiac condition measure traditionally calculated based upon information typically derived in a laboratory or clinical setting. A first tier of the multi-tier machine learning engine may analyze the physiological data sample(s) using first machine learning classifier(s) to obtain a first result. The first result may then be applied to second machine learning classifier(s) of a second tier of the machine learning engine, along with physiological metrics and/or patient clinical information, to determine the cardiac condition measure.

  • Publication number: 20230128020
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a transport route, a purge transport route, an image forming transport route, a transport roller, and a blowing machine. The image forming device forms an image on a sheet. The transport route extends to a predetermined position. The purge transport route extends to a downstream side in a sheet transport direction, from the predetermined position. The image forming transport route is branched from the purge transport route at the predetermined position, and extends toward the image forming device. The transport roller transports the sheet along the transport route, and along one of the purge transport route and the image forming transport route. The blowing machine delivers the sheet to one of the purge transport route and the image forming transport route, by blowing air to the sheet being transported along the transport route.

  • Patent number: 10829326
Abstract: A suction fan of a sheet feeder sucks in air through a sheet feeding belt to generate flotation air. The suction fan uses the flotation air to attract set sheets by suction. A belt motor rotates a sheet feeding belt and feeds out a sheet of the set sheets. An interval measurer measures a sheet-to-sheet interval when the suction fan is attracting the sheet by suction. Based on an output of the interval measurer, a controller recognizes the sheet-to-sheet interval. Based on the recognized sheet-to-sheet interval, the controller adjusts a flow rate of the flotation air.

  • Patent number: 9986121
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image reading unit, a fixing unit, a time setting unit, and a control unit. The image reading unit moves a running body having an onboard optical system. The fixing unit heats toner transferred onto the print medium and applies pressure on the heated toner with respect to the print medium to fix the toner. The time setting unit sets an estimated time when use of the image forming apparatus starts. The control unit controls the image reading unit, the fixing unit, and the time setting unit. The control unit, prior to the set estimated start-of-use time by a predetermined period set in advance, activates the image reading unit to detect whether condensation has occurred in the optical system, heats the fixing unit in response to a detection of occurrence of condensation, and stops the heating before the estimated start-of-use time.

  • Patent number: 9848092
Abstract: An image reading device reads an image of an original document and includes a conveyance roller, an image reading section, a first determination section, a second determination section, and a conveyance stopping section. The conveyance roller conveys the original document. The image reading section reads the image of the original document. The first determination section determines whether or not the original document has a punched hole based on the image read by the image reading section. The second determination section determines, upon determination that the original document has the punched hole, whether or not the punched hole is to travel on an edge of the conveyance roller. The conveyance stopping section stops conveyance of the original document upon determination that the punched hole is to travel on the edge of the conveyance roller.

  • Patent number: 9699340
Abstract: An image reading device includes contact glass, a frame, a light emitting section, a sensor, and a control section. An original document is placed on the contact glass. The flame surrounds the periphery of the contact glass. The light emitting section emits light toward the contact glass and the frame. The sensor detects a first received light amount resulting from first reflected light that has passed through the contact glass and a second received light amount resulting from second reflected light that has been reflected off the frame. The control section compares temporal variation of the first received light amount with temporal variation of the second received light amount. The control section determines whether or not the temporal variation of the first received light amount indicates presence of the original document on the contact glass using the temporal variation of the second received light amount as a reference.

  • Patent number: 9479675
Abstract: An image reading device, at a starting time point, starts one mode gain setting processing, which is processing of obtaining a gain set value of a shared amplifier in one of a color mode and a monochrome mode. After the one mode gain setting processing is completed, the image reading device performs an other mode gain setting processing, which is processing of obtaining a gain set value of the shared amplifier in the other mode. In a case where an instruction to perform a reading job in the one mode is received while the other mode gain setting processing is being performed, the image reading device discontinues the other mode gain setting processing and performs the reading job in the one mode.
