Patent number: 5857443Abstract: The present invention realizes high-speed and stable controls irrespective of the characteristic perturbations accompanied with the variation in operation point of a plant. The principle of the invention is applied to slip control of a lock-up clutch of a transmission and to idling engine speed control. A plant input calculation unit OC working as a controller recognizes an actual plant plus a characteristic compensator CC as an augmented plant EOB. The characteristic compensator CC compensates for the characteristic perturbations of the augmented plant EOB accompanied with the variation in operation point, so that the augmented plant EOB always works at a design point with respect to the plant input calculation unit OC working as the controller. The characteristic compensator CC compensates for frequency-dependent gain and phase deviations through filter operations and for a stationary gain deviation by multiplying predetermined constants.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 1997Date of Patent: January 12, 1999Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Kabushiki Kaisha Toyota Chuo KenkyushoInventors: Katsumi Kono, Hiroshi Ito, Kagenori Fukumura, Shinya Nakamura, Masataka Osawa, Ryoichi Hibino, Masatoshi Yamada

Patent number: 5643136Abstract: A slip control apparatus for a fluid-operated lock-up clutch in a power transmitting system of a motor vehicle, wherein the amount of slip of the lock-up clutch is controlled such that the actual slip speed of the clutch coincides with a target value. The apparatus includes a device for establishing a restricted slip control mode if the vehicle running condition upon detection of a judder of the clutch is in a first area in which the clutch is likely to experience the judder. Patent number: 5602748Abstract: An area machining method capable of generating tool paths with no insufficient cut portion. First, a part profile contour indicating a profile contour for area machining and various machining conditions such as tool radius, depth of cut and the like are preset. Then the outmost offset contour and other subsequent offset contours are obtained, the outmost offset contour being offset along the part profile contour by an amount of the sum of a tool radius and finishing allowance, and the other subsequent offset contours being offset repeatedly from the outmost offset contour in sequence by an amount of depth of cut in the inside direction. Next, contours of insufficient cut portions which are produced between adjacent offset contours are obtained. Subsequently, tool paths each of which connects between offset contours and between an offset contour and a corresponding insufficient cut portion contour are outputted.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1995Date of Patent: February 11, 1997Assignee: FANUC Ltd.Inventors: Masaki Seki, Takashi Takegahara, Shigetoshi Takagi, Shinya Nakamura

Patent number: 5595463Abstract: An area machining method for efficiently hollowing out an area which contains a part of an outline of a workpiece is disclosed. An outward offset line is set outside the workpiece with a predetermined offset distance. Then a series of offset contours (i.e., the elements of the tool path) are defined within the region between the outward offset line and the final part contour. Since the offset distance to the outward offset line is set zero, all the offset contours share a segment of the outward offset line. Except for this common segment, the offset contours are given a cutting feedrate.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1995Date of Patent: January 21, 1997Assignee: Fanuc Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Takegahara, Shigetoshi Takagi, Shinya Nakamura

Patent number: 5570980Abstract: A spindle apparatus capable of exhibiting a good interchangeability of a tool holder without any necessity for managing a gap between an end surface of the tool holder and an end surface of a spindle shaft and, besides, obtaining a high tool holding rigidity. Small- and large-diameter portions are formed in the outer surface of the spindle shaft having a taper hole formed in the shaft end. A sleeve formed with a fluid passageway communicating with the outside is fitted, with interferences, to the outer surface thereof. On the other hand, a flange having a diameter larger than a taper shank is provided at a proximal portion of the taper shank of the tool holder. A fluid pressure is applied to the fluid passageway of the sleeve, thereby making the sleeve contact with the flange of the tool holder that is fitted to the spindle shaft. Thereafter, the sleeve is fixed to the spindle shaft by removing the fluid pressure, and the tool holder is supported with a high rigidity.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 1994Date of Patent: November 5, 1996Assignees: NSK Ltd, Asuka Trading Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shinya Nakamura, Kiyoharu Maruta, Masaki Matsuoka, Koji Nishii
