  • Patent number: 8780751
Abstract: When a determining unit (110) determines, based on the number of resource blocks in the entire system band and the number of resource blocks per subband, that a subband formed of a lower number of resource blocks than the number of resource blocks per subband is present, a channel capacity calculator (140), using a combined noise power which a noise power calculator (120) calculates based on reference signals included in the small subband and the adjacent subband and a combined signal power which a signal power calculator (130) calculates based on reference signals included in the small subband and the adjacent subband and the combined noise power, and a CQI transmitter (150) transmits the result to a radio base station.

  • Patent number: 8270339
Abstract: In mobile communication between a base station and a mobile station, reception quality is prevented from being degraded even when transmission power supplied from a base station is remarkably changed. A code generated in accordance with an amount of change in transmission power is transmitted from the base station to the mobile station. In the mobile station, the code generated by the base station is detected by a detector (25), a receiving gain which amplifies or attenuates the signal transmitted from the base station is changed and set by an amplifier controlling section (26) in accordance with the code detected by the detector (25), and the signal transmitted from the base station is amplified or attenuated by an amplifier (21) with the set receiving gain.

  • Patent number: 8259674
Abstract: A mobile communication method which allows a mobile station and a base station to communicate based on an HSDPA communication mode with a possibility of erroneous base station switching due to erroneous detection of a signal reduced to improve reliability of a mobile communication system, in which, when the mobile station moves from one base station into an area of other base station (S203), other base station as a moving destination transmits a dummy signal for notifying base station switching to the mobile station prior to transmission of actual information (S307), and the mobile station, in response to reception of the dummy signal, decodes an HS-SCCH signal up to part 2 information (S210), examines CRC included in the part 2 information, and when the CRC is normal (YES at S211), switches the base station (S213, S217).

  • Patent number: 8018901
Abstract: A mobile communication system includes a plurality of base station apparatuses; and a mobile terminal configured to perform HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) communication between the mobile terminal and the plurality of base station apparatuses. The mobile terminal has a receiving section configured to receive HS-SCCH (High Speed Shared Control Channel) signals from the base station apparatus as a source of handover and the base station apparatus as a destination of the handover at a same time.

  • Publication number: 20100290556
Abstract: To provide a radio signal reception device which can reduce a process delay and reduce a buffering capacity and a power consumption. Specifically, the radio signal reception device includes: a demapping unit which extracts a sub frame from a received radio signal, judges whether a first OFDM symbol existing at the head of the sub frame and forming a control channel contains information on a signal destined to a reception device contained in a data channel, and if yes, outputs a plurality of OFDM symbols; and a decoding unit which decodes the OFDM symbols which has been outputted from the demapping unit. If the first OFDM symbol contains no information on the signal destined to the reception device, the demapping unit terminates the sub frame reception processing.

  • Publication number: 20100110959
Abstract: A base station transmits multimedia broadcast/multicast service data on the resource block allocated to a multimedia broadcast/multicast service to a number of terminals. The terminal extracts multimedia broadcast/multicast service data from the resource block allocated to the multimedia broadcast/multicast service, which is contained in the signal received from the base station, and measures reception quality of the resource block. The base station transmits auxiliary data on another resource block when the reception quality of the resource block has deteriorated in any of the terminals. The terminal in which the quality of the received data is low to extracts auxiliary data contained in the received signal and synthesizes the data with the multimedia broadcast/multicast service data.

  • Patent number: 7515628
Abstract: Monitoring is made as to whether the serial number of header incorporated to the data sent to a Radio Link Control (RLC) after a decoding process is continuous. When it is determined as a result of monitoring for a predetermined period of time that no defect is present in the header numbers, a multi-path timing is detected by taking a correlation between the result of the detection and spread codes of received signals and a pilot signal. From this multi-path timing, a station, from which data are to be received in fingers, is determined for interrupting processes of de-spread, RAKE reception and decoding, thus reducing power consumed in the processes.

  • Patent number: 7406122
Abstract: An equalizer is provided which is capable of making a filter factor to be set in the equalizer having an equalizing filter converge rapidly and a method is provided for setting an initial value for the rapid convergence of the filter factor. In the equalizer having a filter factor computing device to compute a filter factor for an equalizing filter, and a differential detecting circuit to generate a differential signal between a signal output from the equalizing filter and a common pilot diffusing code, an initial value for the filter factor computing device is generated and set by a multipath timing detecting circuit, a reverse diffusing section, and a channel estimating device being operated based on a received signal.
