Patent number: 7548182Abstract: A radar device for detecting an object in front of the radar device, has a plurality of antennas, wherein the object is detected based on each reception signal received by two or more of the plurality of antennas, a position specification section for specifying a position of the object by using each reception signal received by the two or more of the plurality of antennas; and an object detection section for confirming an existence of the object if the position specified by the position specification section is in a predetermined range.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2007Date of Patent: June 16, 2009Assignee: OMRON CorporationInventors: Hoshibumi Ichiyanagi, Shinya Takenouchi, Yasuhiro Satoh, Hiroyuki Numata

Publication number: 20090015387Abstract: A start of a vehicle is made to be capable of limited in compliance with a necessity. For example, in a case where an operation mode at a time point in which a “request” from an ECU was received is a start inhibition mode, a portable electronic key forms an “answer” including a “start inhibition information”, and transmits that “answer” to the ECU by a UHF. In this case, in an ECU side, the start of the vehicle is inhibited. In contrast to this, in a case where it is a start permission mode, an “answer” not including the “start inhibition information” is formed and transmitted to the ECU. In this case, in the ECU side, the start of the vehicle is permitted. That is, by the fact that an accelerator is stepped on and the like, the vehicle starts. The present invention can be applied to a passive entry system.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2008Publication date: January 15, 2009Applicant: OMRON CORPORATIONInventors: Kosuke Hayama, Hoshibumi Ichiyanagi, Yasuhiro Satoh, Shinya Takenouchi, Hidemitsu Kawashima

Publication number: 20080186224Abstract: The measurement of the distance or/and the relative velocity with fast response is to be achieved while the accuracy of measurement of the distance to an object in close range is maintained. A calculation-execution determination section determines whether or not an object is present within a predetermined range from the strength of a two-frequency Doppler signal sent from an A/D converting section and past calculated distance sent from a calculation selecting section. If the object is outside the predetermined range, the distance calculated by an FFT-method calculating section is output from a calculation output section via an calculation selecting section. If the object is within the predetermined range, one of the distance calculated by a time-interval-method calculating section and the distance calculated by the FFT-method calculating section is selected by the calculation selecting section, and is output from the calculation output section.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2008Publication date: August 7, 2008Applicant: OMRON CORPORATIONInventors: Hoshibumi Ichiyanagi, Shinya Takenouchi, Yasuhiro Satoh, Hiroyuki Numata

Publication number: 20080117093Abstract: A measurement system and a measuring method are provided in order to make a response and an accuracy of a Doppler system of a 2 frequency CW system or the like compatible with each other. A 2 frequency CW radar measures a relative speed and a distance between one's own vehicle and a measurement object by using a short time period sample data from a receiving signal to output as a high speed measurement result as a measurement of a high speed measurement mode. In parallel therewith, the frequency radar measures a relative speed and a distance between one's own vehicle and the measurement object by using a long period time sample data from the receiving signal to output as a low speed measurement result as a measurement of a low speed measurement mode. As a result, the processing operation apparatus can use the high speed measurement result when a processing of a high response is executed and can use the low speed measurement result otherwise.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2007Publication date: May 22, 2008Applicant: OMRON CORPORATIONInventors: Hoshibumi Ichiyanagi, Shinya Takenouchi, Hideyuki Ohara

Patent number: 7330148Abstract: A measuring apparatus for measuring a distance from an object to be measured has, a transmitting means for alternately modulating amplitudes of a first continuous wave having a first frequency and a second continuous wave having a second frequency for transmitting a transmission signal as a carrier wave using an AM signal. The AM signal is produced by an AM producing circuit for modulating the amplitudes. The transmission signal is reflected as a reflection signal by the object to be measured and received by a receiving circuit. A first distance calculating circuit calculates the distance using a phase difference between the first and second continuous waves. A second distance calculating circuit is used for demodulating the receipt signal, detecting a phase difference, and calculating a distance from the object to be measured using the detected phase difference. A determining circuit determines a final distance measurement based on the above calculations.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2007Date of Patent: February 12, 2008Assignee: Omron CorporationInventors: Shinya Takenouchi, Hoshibumi Ichiyanagi, Yasuhiro Satoh
