  • Patent number: 5308769
Abstract: A substantially purified cancer-related galactosyltransferase and a monoclonal antibody which may be used as a diagnostic reagent of cancer are disclosed. The galactosyltransferase of the present invention has a molecular weight of about 50,000 determined by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis under reducing conditions and has a reactivity with MAb4880 under native conditions. A part of the galactosyltransferase self-associates and its reactivity with MAb4880 and the degree of self-association are promoted when it is reduced so that a part of which is detected in a fraction of a molecular weight of not less than 200,000 in gel permeation chromatography. The galactosyltransferase of the present invention can be used as a cancer marker or as a reagent for preparing a monoclonal antibody with a specificity to the galactosyltransferase, which monoclonal antibody can be used as a diagnostic of a cancer.

  • Patent number: 5140517
Abstract: An IC card transaction system is disclosed in which at least a portion of the data required to complete a transaction processing is stored in the card by a customer in advance of transaction processing. An automatic transaction processing unit reads the transaction data stored in the card, checks to determine what transaction data, if any, which is required for the processing of the transaction is not stored in the card and, if necessary, receives from the customer any additional data which was not previously stored in the card and which is required to complete a transaction.

  • Patent number: 4959788
Abstract: An IC card transaction system is disclosed in which at least a portion of the data required to complete a transaction processing is stored in the card by a customer in advance of transaction processing. A skip code is entered for portions of transaction data that is not pre-stored. An automatic transaction processing unit reads the transaction data stored in the card and receives from the customer any additional data which was not previously stored in the card (e.g. data associated with the skip code) and which is required to complete a transaction.

  • Patent number: 4736094
Abstract: A financial transaction processing system comprising an IC card (6) for use in transaction with a financial body, terminals (21e-24e) communicating with the IC card (6) and centers (21-24) provided for each financial body. The IC card (6) comprises a read only memory (2) for storing data for specifying transaction accounts corresponding to a plurality of financial bodies and data of a single secret number common to the financial bodies. When the IC card (6) is inserted into the terminal, a customer can designate a specific account which he wishes to use, by operating a keyboard (20) provided in each of the terminals. In response to such designation, the corresponding account specifying data is read out from the ROM, but if the corresponding account is not stored in the ROM 2, a transaction can not be made.

  • Patent number: 4709137
Abstract: An IC card (6) comprises a read only memory (ROM) (2) in which data specifying a financial body and a stored program for processing procedures are stored, a writable and readable random access memory (RAM) (3), and a central processing unit (CPU) (1) for writing or reading out the data and/or program. When, in a transaction processing, a customer inserts his IC card (6) into a terminal (16), the terminal (16) first reads out the financial body specifying data from the ROM 2. If the data as read out is correct, the terminal (16) further generates a signal indicating that the required transaction is possible and provides the signal to the CPU 1 in the IC card, where the stored program for processing procedures is read out from the ROM 2. A transaction is performed in accordance with the read program. If and when no stored program is stored in the ROM 2, the terminal (16) indicates an impossible transaction through a CRT (19) to inform a customer of the fact.

  • Patent number: 4677657
Abstract: A voice recording card (1) can record and reproduce a message and when it is inserted into a transmitting and receiving apparatus (3), it can transmit and receive the message. In a recording mode, the message is applied through a microphone (14), converted into a digital signal by an analog/digital converter (21) and is recorded in a memory (22). In a transmission mode, the content of the message is read out from the memory (22) and is transmitted through an interface (24) to the transmitting and receiving apparatus (3). In a receiving mode, the content of the message received by the transmitting and receiving apparatus (3) is recorded in the memory (22) through the interface (24) and is read out, in a reproduction mode, from the memory (22) and converted into an analog signal by a digital-analog converter (23) to be outputted from a speaker (15).

  • Patent number: 3987328
Abstract: In an in-line type electron gun assembly wherein the grid electrodes of respective electron guns having the same function and constituting a main lens are formed into an integral grid structure, the grid structure is made up of two electrode members which are bonded together. The two electrode members are respectively provided with aligned three openings at corresponding positions. These openings are provided with long and short sleeves alternately such that the sum of the lengths of the long and short sleeves of the opposing openings of the first and second electrode members is equal to a predetermined length.
