  • Patent number: 5270539
Abstract: For non-contact measurement of the quantity of movement, such as the quantity of injection from a car diesel injection pump, a slit plate having a plurality of slits different in shape from each other is provided so as to be movable in predetermined directions with the movement of a position detection target portion. A measurement wave is radiated toward the slit plate, and the presence of reception of the measurement wave passing through the slits is detected on a receiving surface wider than the width of the slits in a direction of movement. The distance between a reception boundary and an end portion of the receiving surface is measured. A slit through which the measurement wave is passing is specified. The relation of the quantity of movement of the reception boundary from a reference position is calculated for every slit in advance, and the quantity of movement from the reference position is detected on the basis of the measured distance of the reception boundary and the specified slit.

  • Patent number: 4965841
Abstract: A luminance cumulative integrating method in image processes comprises the steps of: storing the positions of all of the unit regions constituting at least one block region to be detected as position information into a plurality of memory areas whose readout order has been predetermined in one direction; storing the luminances at the respective positions of an optical image as luminance information corresponding to the position information; sequentially outputting the position information from the plurality of memory areas; taking out the luminance information corresponding to the position information from the luminance information stored; adding the luminance information; and thereby obtaining the block luminance of at least one block region.

  • Patent number: 4778107
Abstract: An assembling method of a fuel injection valve for fuel injection into an internal combustion engine, the fuel injection valve including a cylindrical valve body having a fuel passage therein and a through-hole made in a direction of the axis thereof and a cylindrical nozzle coupled to the valve body and having a plurality of injection holes for dividing the fuel exited from the through-hole into a plurality of parts and for injecting the divided fuel parts into the engine. The assembling method comprises the steps of coupling the nozzle to the valve body, rotating the valve body relative to the nozzle, and stopping the rotation of the valve body when the through-hole takes a desirable position relative to the injection holes and fixedly securing the nozzle to the valve body.

  • Patent number: 4628465
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method of measuring the shape of an injected substance and an automated apparatus for carrying out such a method. In the invention, an optical image of the injected substance, such as atomized fuel mist is projected on a photoelectric converter, and it is converted to video signal. The video signal is sampled at each picture element and the sampled data are memorized in a data memory unit and computed for obtaining a linear luminance distribution function, by determining a line to cut an optical image, then selecting line elements of a fixed length perpendicular to the cut line and computing an average luminance at the individual line elements. The linear luminance distribution function thus obtained stands for a sectional view of a shape of the injected substance mist. And judgment whether the shape is satisfactory or not can be executed on the basis of various shape factors extracted by use of the linear luminance distribution function.

  • Patent number: 4488429
Abstract: A cylinder connects a measuring chamber filled with fuel to a gas pressure chamber set at a constant pressure maintained by a gas pressure device. A displacement member in the form of a piston separates the gas pressure chamber from the measuring chamber. A fuel injector is mounted to communicate with the measuring chamber. A displacement sensor is disposed inside the gas pressure chamber and has a contact member of free-dropping type which contacts with the top surface of the displacement member. A displacement signal from the displacement sensor representing the amount of displacement of the displacement member is supplied to an arithmetic operation unit. A control circuit controls the injection operation of the fuel injector, and supplies a command to the arithmetic operation unit to calculate the injection amount from the amount of displacement.

  • Patent number: 4437341
Abstract: A liquid injection regulator for use in an injection amount measuring apparatus has seal sections for sealing an injection chamber to be charged with fuel oil and a fuel oil discharge port, respectively, and a control valve having portions thereof which constitute parts of the two seal sections. The control valve departs from the injection chamber to release the two seal sections to thereby discharge the liquid and after completion of the discharge of liquid, returns to the liquid injection chamber while sealing the liquid discharge port to thereby raise pressure in the liquid injection chamber.

  • Patent number: 4391133
Abstract: There are disclosed a method and an apparatus for measuring an injection amount per injecting from an injection device for use with an internal combustion engine. According to the invention, pressure within an injection chamber for measurement is preliminarily raised to predetermined pressure before injecting of the injection device, and then fuel oil is injected from the injection device into the injection chamber with the raised pressure. An increase of a volume of fuel oil within the injection chamber causes displacement of a piston of a displacement member. By using an amount of displacement of the piston, an injection amount of fuel oil from the injection device per injecting can be measured with high accuracy by reducing a measurement error due to a compressed volume resulting from the pressure increase.
