Abstract: A control system for adjusting an antenna rotatably mounted on a vehicle to directly receive a transmitting signal from a geostationary satellite so as to apply it to a receiving equipment on the vehicle. The control system comprises a first sensor for sensing a first difference between a standard direction and a travelling direction of the vehicle, a second sensor for sensing a second difference between the travelling direction of the vehicle and a direction of the antenna, a microcomputer programmed to determine a third difference between the travelling direction of the vehicle and a direction of the satellite in accordance with the first difference on a basis of a predetermined difference between the standard direction and the direction of the satellite and to determine an adjustment angle for rotation of the antenna in accordance with the second and third differences, and an actuator for effecting for rotation of the antenna with the adjustment angle.

Abstract: In a navigation system arranged to display a road map in accordance with road map information from a cassette tape, and the present location of a motor vehicle equipped with the navigation system, a cassette tape distinguishing circuit is provided to a cassette tape player which picks up the road map information from a predetermined cassette having a window at given portion of the cassette housing. A switching circuit is responsive to the cassette tape distinguishing circuit so that the output data of the cassette tape is processed to display a given map only when a cassette carrying road map information is loaded in the cassette tape player. In the case a normal cassette carrying audio signals, such as music, is loaded the picked up audio signal is transmitted to an amplifier so that sound reproduction is effected. Thus, a single cassette player can be used in common as both a part of the navigation system and a part of a sound reproduction system.

Abstract: A mobile navigator comprises a distance detector for generating a running distance signal, an azimuth detector for generating a progression azimuth detecting signal, a CRT display for indicating the current position of an automotive vehicle, a microcomputer for calculating the current position of the vehicle from the distance detecting signal and the progression azimuth detecting signal and supplying the current position signal to the display, and a memory in which is stored a plurality of map data, earth's magnetic field declination information different for each area in association with the map data, and earth's magnetic field strength information.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the running speed of an automobile at a desired running speed includes a device for decreasing the range of acceleration control as the actual running speed approaches the desired value, and a biasing device which opposes the acceleration control tending to exceed the desired value.

Abstract: In an electric control apparatus for an automatic transmission, a shift pattern for conducting shift operation of the transmission may be controlled in accordance with various loads given to the prime engine of a vehicle to thereby ensure good driveability during travel of the vehicle.
