    Abstract: An oscillator with a surface acoustic wave filter connected in its feedback path. The oscillator includes an attenuator in the feedback path for attenuating to a predetermined level an oscillating signal fed back to the surface acoustic wave filter from an amplifier used to excite the oscillation. The attenuation is sufficient to prevent damage to the acoustic wave filter.
