  • Patent number: 4435549
Abstract: This invention relates to novel N-cyano amide compositions and adducts thereof of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a simple organic moiety or a polymeric adduct with the valence of n and n is 2 or 3. The composition, per se, can be used as a curing agent for epoxy resins to form a thermoset material on heating.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 24, 1983
Date of Patent: March 6, 1984
    Assignee: W. R. Grace & Co.
    Inventor: Shiow-Ching Lin
  • Patent number: 4328138
Abstract: Curable N-acylurea polymers and coating compositions are provided which cure by reaction of ethylenic unsaturation of the acyl group. The subject polymers are prepared by reaction of a polymeric carbodiimide with an ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid. Coating compositions so provided may have N-acylurea polymer solids contents of about 30% to about 95% by weight, exclusive of pigment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 4, 1980
Date of Patent: May 4, 1982

  • Patent number: 4266040
Abstract: A reaction product of (1) resin containing a plurality of electron deficient ethylenically unsaturated groups and (2) a polyazlactone. The product may be formed without the liberation of a gas and cured at a higher temperature with the liberation of a gas to thereby form foamed product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 27, 1980
Date of Patent: May 5, 1981
    Assignee: DeSoto, Inc.
