Patent number: 11958183Abstract: Effective human-robot collaboration (HRC) requires extensive communication among the human and robot teammates, because their actions can potentially produce conflicts, synergies, or both. An augmented reality-driven, negotiation-based (ARN) framework is provided for HRC, where ARN supports planning-phase negotiations within human-robot teams. Experiments in an office environment, where multiple mobile robots work on delivery tasks, where the robots could not complete the tasks on their own, but sometimes need help from their human teammate, making human-robot collaboration necessary. In comparison to a non-AR baseline, ARN significantly improved the human users' work efficiency, and their cognitive load, while reducing the overall task completion time of the whole team.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2020Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: The Research Foundation for The State University of New YorkInventors: Shiqi Zhang, Kishan Dhananjay Chandan

Publication number: 20230349435Abstract: The present application provides a composite brake disc, the preparation method thereof and a friction stir tool. The composite brake disc comprises: an aluminum alloy base layer, and an aluminum matrix composite layer, where the aluminum alloy base layer and the aluminum matrix composite layer are bonded with each other through metallurgical bonding. A transition layer is formed at the boundary surface where the aluminum alloy base layer and the aluminum matrix composite layer are bonded with each other. A reinforced structure connecting the aluminum alloy base layer and the aluminum matrix composite layer is formed in the transition layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2021Publication date: November 2, 2023Inventors: Dong TAN, Shaohua XIA, Louming LI, Shiqi ZHANG, Hongmei GAO, Xiangping LI, Jianyun ZHANG, Rong LU, Lu CHEN, Shanzhong CHEN

Publication number: 20220306152Abstract: Autonomous vehicles need to plan at the task level to compute a sequence of symbolic actions, such as merging left and turning right, to fulfill people's service requests, where efficiency is the main concern. At the same time, the vehicles must compute continuous trajectories to perform actions at the motion level, where safety is the most important. Task-motion planning in autonomous driving faces the problem of maximizing task-level efficiency while ensuring motion-level safety. To this end, we develop algorithm Task-Motion Planning for Urban Driving (TMPUD) that, for the first time, enables the task and motion planners to communicate about the safety level of driving behaviors. TMPUD has been evaluated using a realistic urban driving simulation platform. Results suggest that TMPUD performs significantly better than competitive baselines from the literature in efficiency, while ensuring the safety of driving behaviors.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2022Publication date: September 29, 2022Inventors: Shiqi Zhang, Yan Ding

Publication number: 20210192503Abstract: Implementations of the present specification disclose a payment method, apparatus, and device. In the case of face-to-face payment, the location information and the payment information are sent to the server through the terminal device of the first user, and the server generates a corresponding payment password and returns the corresponding payment password to the first user. The first user then forwards the payment password (for example, verbally, or forwarding using communication software, etc.) to the second user, and the second user then uploads the location and payment password of the second user to the server. The server performs matching or querying within a certain range based on the location of the second user, to determine whether a same payment password exists. If the matching or query is successful, payment is made.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2021Publication date: June 24, 2021Inventor: Shiqi ZHANG
