A method for adjusting volume may include acquiring, with a device, ambient noise information about ambient noise present during playing of sound. The method may further include adjusting volume of the sound based on the acquired ambient noise information. By acquiring ambient noise information, the method may provide that volume of the sound is adjusted based on the acquired ambient noise information. Because the acquired ambient noise information may reflect the current ambient noise level, the method may adjust volume of the sound based on the acquired ambient noise information without requiring manual adjusting of volume by a user, which may be convenient to the user.
