    Abstract: A combination planer/moulder having means to raise, lower and lock a cutting member at a desired position is provided. The device includes a platform onto which a table for holding materials and an adjustment system are attached. The adjustment system includes at least one column having a rectilinear wall. A cutterhead is provided, having cooperative openings and a locking means, such that it may move along the at least one column of the adjustment system and locked in place. The rectilinear wall of the column cooperates with a similarly shaped opening in the cutterhead, such that by pressing the rectilinear shaped side of the opening against the rectilinear wall of the column the cutterhead may be fixed in desirable positions to permit work on materials and released for adjustment. The device includes a window such that the placement of the cutting knives on the materials can be viewed and debris can be seen and removed therefrom.

The base comprises a frame assembly having a width dimension and a depth dimension, first, second, third, and fourth wheels attached to the frame assembly such that the frame assembly may be moved, and a locking system. The locking system comprises a lock housing, a lock member, a drive member, and a magnetic portion. The lock housing defines a lock chamber. The lock member is slideably mounted within the lock chamber and moves between an unlocked position and a locked position in which the lock member frictionally engages the floor surface. Axial rotation of the drive member causes the drive member to move towards or away from the floor surface. The drive member is located above the lock member and is capable of rotating with respect to the lock member.

    Abstract: An adjustable mobile base that accommodates machines of different effective footprints and allows them to be selectively moved from place-to-place or fixed at a given location. The mobile base assembly comprises a frame assembly comprised of corner members and side members. The side members are telescopically received within the corner members such that a width dimension and depth dimension of the base assembly can be changed to accommodate machines having different effective footprints. A lock system may be provided which employs one or more lock assemblies. Each lock assembly comprises a lock member that is slidably received within a lock housing and a drive member which is threadably received within the lock housing. Rotating the drive member in one direction elevates one or more wheels of the base assembly and thus frictionally engages the floor surface and prevents movement of the machine on the base assembly.
