  • Patent number: 8087486
Abstract: A vehicular canister mounting structure includes a vehicle body floor provided on rear frames, a canister being provided underneath the vehicle body floor for treating gasoline vapor produced within a fuel tank, a guide pipe for protecting the canister, and a support for supporting the guide pipe and the canister on a vehicle body. The support includes a guide pipe bracket welded to the vehicle body floor for supporting the guide pipe, and a canister bracket welded to the guide pipe bracket for supporting the canister. Strength with which the canister bracket is welded to the guide pipe bracket is smaller than a strength with which the guide pipe bracket is welded to the vehicle body floor.

  • Patent number: 6598691
Abstract: An electric vehicle in which driving force of a motor driven by batteries is transmitted through a reduction device and a differential to front wheels. The motor and the reduction device are disposed at portions of a vehicle body rearwardly of the differential and hence, a portion of the vehicle body in front of the differential is enlarged and can effectively function as a crushable zone upon a frontal collision of a vehicle. Moreover, the motor and the reduction device which are heavy components are disposed near a central portion of the vehicle body, leading to a mid-ship layout. This conrtibutes to an enhancement in motional property of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5829824
Abstract: A rear body structure of a vehicle is disclosed which comprises a pair of right and left rear wheel houses and a reinforcing cross member extending between the rear wheel houses, wherein the cross member is comprised of a lower cross member located below a floor panel of the vehicle and an upper cross member located above the floor panel, and wherein the lower cross member, the floor panel and the upper cross member are weld connected together. As a result, the rigidity of the cross member is increased, whereby drumming arising from the vibrations transmitted from suspensions to areas about a bulkhead of the rear body structure may be avoided, and the time required for luggage loading and unloading operations with respect to a luggage compartment may be shortened. Since the upper cross member is designed to have a small height, it also becomes possible to load long articles spanning from the luggage compartment to a rear part of a passenger compartment.
