Publication number: 20240259292Abstract: A method includes receiving, from a user device, a reachability request requesting a reachability status of network traffic from a first VM of a VPC to a second VM of the VPC. The method also includes obtaining network configuration information defining a configuration of a network connecting the first VM and the second VM, generating, using the network configuration information associated with the VPC, a simulated path between the first VM and the second VM, and, determining, based on the simulated path, that the second VM is unreachable from the first VM. The method further includes, based on determining that the second VM is unreachable from the first VM, generating a reachability report, the reachability report including each hop of the plurality of hops of the simulated path, and a rationale that the second VM is unreachable from the first VM, and providing the reachability report to the user device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2024Publication date: August 1, 2024Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Hui Liu, Leslie Choong, Hongkun Yang, Shishir Agrawal, Raj Yavatkar, Tianqiong Luo, Gargi Adhav, Steffen Smolka

Patent number: 11968110Abstract: A method for providing cloud network reachability analysis includes receiving a reachability query requesting a reachability status of a target including a packet header associated with a data packet. The packet header includes a source IP address and a destination IP address. The method also includes generating one or more simulated forwarding paths for the data packet based on the packet header using a data plane model. Each simulated forwarding path includes corresponding network configuration information. The method includes determining the reachability status of the target based on the one or more simulated forwarding paths and providing the determined reachability status and the one or more simulated forwarding paths to a user device associated with the reachability query which causes the user device to present the network configuration information for each simulated forwarding path.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2022Date of Patent: April 23, 2024Assignee: Google LLCInventors: Hui Liu, Leslie Choong, Hongkun Yang, Shishir Agrawal, Raj Yavatkar, Tianqiong Luo, Gargi Adhav, Steffen Smolka

Patent number: 11880385Abstract: Updates to projected data subsets may be ordered using conditional operations. When updates to a data set are received, a determination is made according to a schema for a projected subset of the data set as to whether the update is to be propagated to the projected subset of the data set. If the update is to be propagated, a comparison of a version identifier for the update may be made with a version identifier for the subset to determine whether performance of the update is consistent with an ordering of updates performed to the first data set. If the comparison indicates the performance of the update is consistent, then the update may be performed to the projected subset. If not, then the update may not be performed.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2020Date of Patent: January 23, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Sharatkumar Nagesh Kuppahally, Peter Zhivkov, Somasundaram Perianayagam, James Christopher Sorenson, III, Amit Gupta, Shishir Agrawal, Sagar Mundra, Vaibhav Jain, Ajay Kumar, Aman Gupta, Ankur Tyagi

Publication number: 20230012793Abstract: A method (500) for toggling multi-network connectivity of a mobile device (110) includes, for the mobile device simultaneously connected to one or more carrier-mediated wireless networks (120) associated with a network operator (70), executing a graphical user interface that renders a status graphic (320) indicating the mobile device is currently connected to at least one carrier-mediated wireless network associated with the network operator, and an interactive graphic (330) for selecting between disabling and enabling connections (122) between the mobile device and carrier-mediated wireless networks associated with the network operator.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2019Publication date: January 19, 2023Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Daniel Chak, Varun Anand, Alex Stillwell, Shishir Agrawal, Qingxi Li

Publication number: 20220417841Abstract: A method (500) for demarcating carrier-mediated and user-mediated networks includes, for a mobile device (110) simultaneously connected to a first wireless network (120) and a second wireless network (120), determining whether the first wireless network is associated with a same network operator (70) as the second wireless network. When the operator is the same, the method includes establishing a virtual private network (VPN) (30) between the mobile device and a remote server (130). The VPN includes a first VPN connection (122) that connects the mobile device to the remote server over the first wireless network and a second VPN connection (122) that connects the mobile device to the remote server over the second wireless network. The method includes transmitting data (50) from the mobile device to the remote server over the VPN via one of the VPN connections. The remote server routes the data to a destination server (60).Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2019Publication date: December 29, 2022Applicant: Google LLCInventors: Daniel Chak, Varun Anand, Shishir Agrawal, Qingxi Li, Alex Stillwell
