  • Publication number: 20220111843
Abstract: A system for speed control of electric bikes, electric scooters and road sign recognition for connected vehicles is presented in this invention. A web server system containing all the information on the road signs and traffic lights under the city's jurisdiction with street map is used. This server controls a controller installed on all the road signs and road traffic lights. This controller uses an ISM band transmitter to transmit content of the posted road sign as multiple data packets. These data packets are used by the controller installed in the vehicle to determine type of road signs and then inform the vehicle main system controller to perform appropriate operation for speed control and operation of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5568535
Abstract: An alarm system for protecting premises comprises a fully integrated, alarm detecting cellular phone unit which is linked to various sensors in order to detect the sensor outputs. The cellular alarm unit includes, in addition to cellular phone functions, a formatter or processor for generating an emergency signal on detection of a sensor output, the emergency signal including information on the type of emergency detected. The unit is programmed to establish a cellular connection to a remote monitoring station. The connection is wireless at least from the premises to a local cell site. Once connection is established, the emergency signal is transmitted to the monitoring station via the local cell site.

  • Patent number: 4833618
Abstract: A system for automatically collecting and storing utility data and transmitting the stored data from the user premises to a remote location. The system comprises interface means for converting the utility usage data into data signals that can be recorded and a microprocessor for storing the utility information and controlling the transmission of the information from the user premises to the central location. The system is provided with the controls to insure that power is used only when system functions are necessary and controls are provided to insure that delivery of information can be obtained by transmission from the user premises to the utility by initiation of a telephone call from the user premises only at pre-determined times or from the remote collection area also at pre-determined times without interferring with the users use of the conventional telephone line.

  • Patent number: 4578796
Abstract: A digital processor based voiceband modem that provides computers and terminals access to telephone lines and performs line control functions to originate, answer and terminate data calls in addition to converting baseband signals to voiceband and voiceband signals to baseband. The modem utilizes a signal processor that executes various signal converting algorithms under control of selected sets of instructions and further utilizes a digital processor that executes line control algorithms for alternative modes (i.e., originate or answer) of the data modem. An outgoing or incoming call enables the appropriate mode and, during the execution of the corresponding line control algorithm, various sets of instructions are selected to execute signal converting algorithms appropriate for the enabled mode of a specific one of various data modem types.

  • Patent number: 4425664
Abstract: Disclosed is a programmable universal data set which is defined as a data set that is capable of simultaneously servicing a plurality of data terminals desiring diverse types of data sets for several different transmission speeds and formats. The universal data set comprises analog and digital buffer processors adapted for interfacing with a plurality of data terminals and with a multi-input transmission medium, a high speed digital processor having a "highly parallel" structure for computing the various elemental functions of the diverse types of data sets, and a cyclic processor for controlling the operational sequence of the high speed processor to achieve the overall operation of the selected types of data sets. The cyclic processor includes means for modifying the types of data sets implemented.
