The method includes: preparing a nanoporous polysulfone membrane; applying the nanoporous polysulfone membrane onto a substrate; depositing a metal into the pores of the polysulfone membrane thereby forming metal nanodots on the substrate; and removing the nanoporous polysulfone membrane.
