  • Patent number: 4580256
Abstract: An automatic disc loading apparatus for an information reproducing or recording/reproducing system in which pieces of information recorded on a record disc are to be reproduced or pieces of information are recorded on a record disc and thereafter reproduced. The apparatus comprises a casing structure into which the record disc is to be inserted in a predetermined direction along a predetermined plane substantially parallel with the predetermined direction toward a predetermined position within the casing structure. The casing structure is formed with a slot elongated in a direction substantially perpendicular to the aforesaid predetermined direction. A disc guide is provided comprising a pair of disc guide members movable toward and away from each other within the casing structure and in the neighborhood of the above mentioned slot substantially symmetrically with respect to the above mentioned predetermined direction.

  • Patent number: 4204687
Abstract: A tone arm drive device, comprises a tone arm drive mechanism driven by an electric motor rotatable in forward and reverse directions to vertically move and horizontally swing a tone arm. A first flip-flop circuit is triggered by signals instructing elevation and descent of said tone arm and a first logical gate generates an output of a logical product of a signal instructing a lowering position of the tone arm and an output signal of the first flip-flop circuit. A detecting circuit is employed to sense the upward movement limit point of said tone arm. A set-reset type flip-flop circuit receives an output from the first logical gate and an output of the detecting circuit as a "set" input and a "reset" input, respectively. A second logical gate is used for generating a logical product output of an output signal of the first flip-flop circuit and an output signal of the set-reset type flip-flop, with the output signal thereof being employed as a tone arm vertical movement control signal.

  • Patent number: 4195845
Abstract: A turntable rotation controlling apparatus for use in a record player includes a logic sum gate circuit, wherein a phono-motor for rotating the turntable is driven when the gate circuit is conductive. The gate circuit is rendered conductive in response to the horizontal movement of a tone arm and/or the vertical movement thereof.

  • Patent number: 4191382
Abstract: A turntable rotation control device has an electric motor reversibly rotatable. A mechanism is used for horizontally swinging a tone arm towards the inner circumference of a record by the rotation of the motor in a first direction. A second mechanism is employed for horizontally swinging the tone arm towards the outer circumference of the record by the rotation of the motor in a second direction. A first signal generating device generates a signal to rotate the motor in the first direction and a second signal generating device is employed for generating a signal to rotate the motor in the second direction a detecting circuit senses when the tone arm has been swung horizontally from the initial position at an arm rest and an OR gate circuit generates an output of a logical sum of an output signal of the first signal generating circuit and an output signal of said detecting circuit. A device circuit is driven by an output of said OR gate circuit to control the rotation of the turntable.
