  • Patent number: 5034680
Abstract: A digital level display device wherein the digital input signal is converted into an absolute value and further converted into its logarithm. The peak of the logarithm is detected and latched. A CPU reads the latched peak and converts into it into a signal for display.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 19, 1987
Date of Patent: July 23, 1991
    Assignee: Pioneer Electronic Corporation
    Inventors: Shizuo Kakiuchi, Hiroshi Iizuka
  • Patent number: 4931724
Abstract: A digital level indicating device for use in compact disk players digital audio tape recorders, etc., which includes a converter circuit for converting a digital signal applied thereto to an absolute value signal representative of an absolute value of the digital signal. A peak holding circuit detects and holds a peak of the absolute value signal. A first decoder log-converts the absolute value signal. A second decoder log-converts a signal held by the peak holding circuit. Indicator means display a level of the digital signal in accordance with outputs from both the first and second decoder. A selector switches the choices of resolution of the first decoder and the second decoder.

  • Patent number: 4855741
Abstract: A digital level display in which a digital input signal has its highest order non-zero part logarithmically converted by a first decoder and its lower order part logarithmically converted by a second decoder. The outputs of the two decoders are added to be displayed.

  • Patent number: 4805050
Abstract: A system for positioning a pick-up head of a disk player at a predetermined point having an address determining circuit to determine the position of the pick-up head. A calculating circuit determines the distance to a target position on the basis of the address detected. A controller provides a move output signal to displace the pick-up head at high speed to the target position. The address (location) of the head is again determined and a second move operation performed to plan the pick-up within a predetermined range so that a search for the target address can be performed.
