  • Patent number: 5380485
Abstract: Apparatus for conducting and controlling chemical reactions, wherein idealistic reaction conditions are achieved automatically for chemical reaction systems in a reaction vessel. The apparatus includes a pH-sensor, a temperature sensor and a vacuum sensor in the reaction vessel. The apparatus also includes electronic scales to measure the weight change in additive liquid containers linked with liquid flow mechanisms to supply additive liquids into the reaction vessel. A cooling mechanism is provided to cool the reaction vessel and a vacuum mechanism is provided to degas the inner space of the reaction vessel. A CPU is arranged to control the liquid flow mechanisms, the cooling mechanism and the vacuum mechanism based on calculated values derived from signals issued by the sensors and the scales.

  • Patent number: 5300872
Abstract: Inverter control method and apparatus which are immune to the influence of load disturbance and detection noise and permit stable minimization control of motor current, in order to attain high efficiency of an AC motor and of an inverter adapted to drive the same. A memory group is provided having a plurality of sets of memories for storage of data pieces representative of exciting current commands standing for manipulated variables and data pieces representative of motor currents standing for controlled variables. An upper limit value (IDUP) and a lower limit value (IDLW) defining a fluctuation region of the exciting current command are determined so that an exciting current command data piece corresponding to a motor current data piece which is the smallest of all the current data pieces in the memory group falls within the fluctuation region. The fluctuation region is determined so as to minimize the motor current, the exciting current command being fluctuated within the fluctuation region.

  • Patent number: 4640083
Abstract: An apparatus for forming bags from a packing film and then filling the bags with bulky solid or powdery materials includes a bag-making cylinder which has air-removing grooves in its outer periphery for removing air in the bags when the materials are collectively filled into the bags, thus resulting in a constant and high speed packing operation.

  • Patent number: 4334433
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring the thicknesses of a cladding layer and a base metal layer by applying ultrasonic waves on the side of a sample opposite the cladding layer. The reflected waves are sensed and displayed on an oscilloscope. Using a disclosed technique for eliminating noise and interference, the position of the interface between the cladding layer and base metal layer are measured from a pulse produced due to the discontinuity of acoustic impedance at the interface.

  • Patent number: 4137691
Abstract: A stretch wrap packaging machine packages articles received on trays, and can handle various different article geometries and tray sizes without modification. In an initial phase of a wrapping operation film is sleeve wrapped around an article and tray by elevating the article and tray upwardly against a horizontally stretched length of film to draw the film over the article and tray and downwardly along and beyond both ends of the article and tray, and by then joining the downwardly extending film portions below the tray and cutting them from the film supply through the use of a heat-seal and cut-off device having a heated wire which supplies heat to the film, to perform the heat-seal and cut-off functions, by radiation and without engaging the film.
