Abstract: An apparatus and method for treating erectile dysfunction by using a pulsating, ultraweak, magnetic field. A transducer generates an ultraweak, pulsating magnetic fields which is applied to the penis, which as a result of the magnetic field causes the erection of the penis. Another aspect of the invention is an apparatus and method for treating medical conditions in women by using a pulsating, ultraweak, magnetic field.

Abstract: A weight-measuring device is described that is adapted to be attached between two objects, and to be brought to a stretched state and to an unstretched state. The device may be attachable to a harness of the type which comprises a pair of shoulder strap assemblies, for example of the type used with backpacks, parachute units or similar constructed systems for holding or carrying an object or load to a person's body. The weight-measuring device comprises a force resistance element altered by the application of force thereto, and a weight indicator providing an indication of the force magnitude applied thereto.

Abstract: A fastener comprising a cylindrical member connected to a first strap section along the cylinder's wall, a tube-shaped member connected to a second strap section along the tube's wall. The tube has an opening within its wall to allow the passage of the first strap therethrough, and may comprise a display window covered with a magnifying glass to allow the assessment of the relative tension between the two opposing straps. The first strap section is attached to the second strap section by inserting the cylinder in the tube.

Abstract: A method of preconditioning a potentially ischemic myocardium or treating a myocardium under an ischemic distress event is disclosed. The method comprises exposing the myocardium to an alternating magnetic field at a frequency of from 15.5N Hz to about 16.5N Hz or from 7.8 Hz to 8.2 Hz and duration selected so as to activate potassium ATP channels in the myocardium, wherein N is a positive integer.

Abstract: A backpack is described that comprises a bag having a storage compartment, and a backpack harness configured for securing the bag on a user carrying the backpack. The backpack harness includes a pair of shoulder strap assemblies. Each shoulder strap assembly includes a weight-measuring device anchored to the top of the bag, so that when the backpack is carried by the user, the weight load applied to said each strap assembly can be determined. Each strap assembly can include a fastener configured for detaching the corresponding weight-measuring device. The fastener comprises a cylindrical member connected to a first strap section along the cylinder's wall, a tube-shaped member connected to a second strap section along the tube's wall. The tube has a longitudinal slit along its wall to allow the passage of the first strap therethrough. The first strap section is attached to the second strap section by inserting the cylinder in the tube.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the treatment of cardiac hypertrophic heart failure, hypertropic cardiomyopathy, atrial or ventricular brady-arrhythmias (slow heart rate), atrial flutter-fibrillation and similar cardiac ailments, as well as peripheral vascular disease and hypertension, using a weak pulsed magnetic field or a very weak magnetic field. A transducer that emits weak electromagnetic radiation is placed on the patient's chest or legs and, as a result the very weak electromagnetic field can cause activation, reactivation, inhibition or remodeling of electrophysiological change in cardiac tissue in an irradiated heart or vessels. This treatment method has wide application for use in patients with various heart and vascular ailments.

Abstract: A method and system for monitoring a health condition of an individual. At least one physiological parameter of the individual is measured and measured data is then processed in order to detect a potential danger in the measured parameter. Upon detecting the potential danger, a warning signal representative of the potential danger is generated, and a signal for indicating to the individual to actuate a personal communication unit is provided during a predetermined period of time. Upon actuating the personal communication unit, an information message representative of the warning signal is transmitted to the individual. In the absence of actuating the personal communication unit during the predetermined period of time, data indicative of the warning signal is transmitted to a central monitoring station.

Air and liquid are simultaneously dispensed from the separate compartments so as to form a fine spray for cleaning debris from between the blades of the razor assembly or for cleaning a part of the body to be shaved.

Abstract: A method for monitoring food intake for an individual and providing an indication when the food intake exceeds a predetermined allowable amount, comprising the steps of monitoring the individual over a predetermined period of time in order to establish an empirical relationship for the individual between a change in at least one physiological variable and a rate and/or amount of food intake. Upon starting each meal, the change in each of the relevant physiological variables is measured so as to determine from the empirical relationship an estimated rate and/or amount of food intake. This permits calculation of a maximum eating time to intake the predetermined allowable amount for the individual, upon expiry of which an indication is given to stop eating.
