Abstract: The present disclosure provides additive manufacturing apparatuses and maintenance methods. For example, in one embodiment an additive manufacturing apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a reservoir configured to contain additive manufacturing material and a supply conduit for interconnecting the reservoir with a print head. The apparatus further includes a regulator configured to control pressure of additive manufacturing material in the print head to trigger purging of the print head and an air-ink separator configured to receive a mixture of air and purged additive manufacturing material. The air-ink separator is configured to reclaim at least a portion of the additive manufacturing material from the mixture.

Abstract: An imaging device comprising an imaging surface on which images are formed; an image transfer surface which receives the images onto an image transfer portion thereof at a first transfer region and from which images are transferred at a second transfer region; and a cleaning arrangement including a cleaning surface which engages the image transfer portion at a cleaning region of the transfer surface. The image transfer portion receives a non-image pattern from the imaging surface at the first transfer region and the cleaning surface collects the non-image pattern at the cleaning region.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus incorporating a substantially rectangular organic photoreceptor sheet having a base layer, a conductive layer and a photoconductive layer, wherein along one edge of the photoreceptor sheet there is an exposed conductive area, a drum having a longitudinal cavity formed therein and including a slot formed between the cavity and the cylindrical surface of the drum into which the one edge of the photoreceptor sheet is inserted and a rotatable element within the cavity which, in a locking position, presses the photoreceptor sheet against a wall of the cavity, fixedly and removably holding the photoreceptor sheet in place.
