  • Patent number: 4665028
Abstract: A method for production of an immobilized enzyme by means of a crosslinking agent wherein the following components are brought together in aqueous medium:(a) an enzyme preparation;(b) a crosslinking agent; and(c) an inert water soluble salt in a relatively high concentration. The salt hinders solubility of the enzyme in the medium, yet the enzyme is fully accessible to the crosslinking agent. High enzyme activity recovery may be obtained.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 5, 1983
Date of Patent: May 12, 1987
    Assignee: Novo Industri A/S
    Inventor: Shmuel Amotz
  • Patent number: 4572897
Abstract: Immobilized enzyme granules prepared by mixing inert filler particles into an aqueous solution or dispersion of a water soluble binder, followed by granulating the mixture so as to form carrier granules. Enzyme is immobilized on the hydrophilic surfaces of the carrier granules. If not already insoluble in the medium for the intended enzymatic reaction, the binder in the granules is rendered insoluble, e.g., water insoluble.Proteins are preferred binder materials, and glutaraldehyde is the preferred reagent for bonding enzyme to the carrier granules and for water insolubilizing the binder.

  • Patent number: 4116771
Abstract: An immobilized saccharifying enzyme product formed by coating granular casein with a liquid-permeable proteinaceous layer comprising saccharifying enzyme and egg albumen cross-linked by reaction with glutaraldehyde.

  • Patent number: 3980521
Abstract: A water insoluble glucose isomerase product is prepared from microorganism cells exhibiting glucose isomerase activity by concentrating and homogenizing the microorganism cells to form a homogenized cell concentrate containing ruptured cells, reacting the homogenized concentrate with glutaraldehyde to form a coherent solid product and removing water and shaping the coherent product into a divided form.
