  • Publication number: 20180080814
Abstract: A system and a method for transporting high luminous intensity light from at least one luminaire to a destination area are disclosed. The system may include a light guide that carries light from the luminaire to a plurality of sensors located on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The PCB may be attachable anywhere the luminaire is located. According to an aspect, the luminaire is a separate entity from the sensor system. While collecting light rays originating from the luminaire and delivering them to the light sensors, the light guide may perform a plurality of operations to modify the characteristics of the collected light rays. The plurality of operations performed by the light guide on the light rays may support the accuracy and longevity of the light sensors on the PCB. Further, the light guide allows the sensor subsystem to be proximal to or distant from the luminaire.

  • Publication number: 20180070422
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods to predict a half-life or end of life for luminaire drivers are described. The drivers may include electronic drivers for light fixtures such as dimming controls that utilize electrolytic capacitors in the output circuit to smooth the output current and reduce changes in current amplitude. Half-life and end of life for the drivers may be predicted by monitoring failure variable indications of the driver and the luminaire light, including the light intensity depreciation of the light, and by evaluating the data from both the driver, light, and environment in which the driver and/or luminaire is installed to predict the most imminent half-life and/or end of life.

  • Publication number: 20180042083
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for automatically managing emergency lighting testing are generally described herein. The automated emergency lighting testing may include scheduling emergency lighting events, verifying that emergency lighting power sources and fixtures are sufficient to maintain requisite light intensity for a requisite amount of time, and calculating life expectancy for emergency power sources and lighting fixtures to predict when components should be replaced to avoid failure. The disclosure reduces the amount of time and manual intervention required for the tests by using, among other things, a system of lighting control drivers, sensors, and processors that monitor, assess, and control the lighting system including emergency lighting components and power.

  • Patent number: 9874478
Abstract: The present system provides a sensor clip system that can be clipped to luminaires of a plurality of shapes and sizes and method of using the sensor clip. Some of the sensors are upward looking (into the luminaire) while others are downward looking (away from the luminaire); and thus face in substantially opposite directions. The sensor clip is adjustable in one, two or three dimensions to be able to easily fit with different sized and shaped luminaires, such that the upward looking sensors may face the incoming light and downward looking sensors face away from the light. The sensor clip system may also provide attenuation of the luminous intensity of the emitted light coming out of the luminaires and extends the longevity and usability of the embedded sensor.

  • Patent number: 9788396
Abstract: A system and method for discovering at least one dimming control protocol installed in a plurality of lighting devices and for controlling a plurality of dimming levels of the plurality of lighting devices are disclosed. The system may include at least one gateway that connects to at least one plurality of luminaires and/or LED's, at least one sensor subsystem and at least one power meter. The system and method may exchange information between a plurality of light devices and a self-organized, self-discovering gateway device. The gateway may use one or more known control protocols as an input and is able to handle multiple light devices that support different control protocols. This ability makes the gateway a universal lighting control gateway.

  • Publication number: 20150135268
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention enable an organization's system to disavow false network load/traffic from overwhelming its servers. The system includes a processor, and a memory having instructions executable by the processor to determine load on its network. If the load on the network is more than a considerable limit then the system may enable shadow servers to move to a new but randomly selected location by replicating its current state and data to the new location. Additionally, the legitimate clients may always be updated about the new location of the shadow server. This may allow the legitimate clients of the system to follow the shadow server and enjoy the services. However, the illegal clients may not be able to predict the new location of the shadow server and thus may not harm their targeted set of services.

  • Patent number: 7382757
Abstract: The present invention allows a single access point (“AP”; 100) to support a plurality of devices (102, 104) operating on different frequency bands. During a first period of time, the AP initiates a contention free period at a first frequency. The AP switches from the first frequency to a second frequency, and communicates with devices operating at the second frequency. Periodically during the first period of time, the AP temporarily ceases communication with devices operating at the second frequency to initiate a contention free period at the second frequency, switch from the second frequency to the first frequency, initiate another contention free period at the first frequency, and switch from the first frequency back to the second frequency.

  • Patent number: 7382758
Abstract: A method and system for wireless data transmission between at least three stations use multiple frequency bands for simultaneous channel communications. The method includes transmitting a Request To Send (RTS) packet from a first station to an intermediate second station over a first frequency band. Two Clear To Send (CTS) packets, which CTS packets include transmission timing information, are then transmitted from the second station simultaneously both to the first station and to a third station. The CTS packet sent to the first station is transmitted over the first frequency band and the CTS packet sent to the third station is transmitted over a second frequency band. A data packet from the first station is then transmitted to the second station. The third station suspends, based on the transmission timing information included in the CTS packets, any unicast transmission to the second station during the transmission of the data packet from the first station to the second station.
