Abstract: A method manages power on/off procedure of an electronic device with security mechanism. A user input setting is established to perform power on/off procedure and to provide security mechanism for the electronic device. The electronic device in first-time use is powered on to a stand-by state with a default power on procedure and then in user input setting state. The input unit of the electronic device is operated to set the user input setting, which can be provided by input element or the composition of input elements of the input unit. The electronic device can be successfully powered on or off by operating the already-set user input setting.

Abstract: A power-saving apparatus and a power-saving method are disclosed for electronic device. A power-saving program is stored in the electronic device and is activated to a detecting and stand-by scanning state when the electronic device is turned on. The power-saving program detects the operation of an input unit with reference to a preset time parameter. The power-saving program detects an input operation of the input unit. The corresponding function for the input operation is performed and the power-saving program judges whether the input operation is a normal operation. The power-saving program performs a power-saving procedure to turn off power from the electronic device when the input operation is judged to be abnormal.

Abstract: A page scrolling control device and method for window, using a device having a control module operative to switch and scroll window pages expressly, such that the user can perform real-time switch under whole-page mode, single-line mode or scaling display mode for an activated data display window. Thereby, the users can easily and quickly perform control the scroll control to perform whole page, single-line and scaling scroll of the page.

Abstract: A method and a device for alerting MSN message transmission are provided. An alert software is activated immediately after the user activates and logs in the MSN real-time messenger. The software then performs the confirmation of on-line status, and enters the computer system into a standby mode for alert. When an incoming message is acquired from the messenger, the alert level of the incoming message is determined. A signal representing the alert level of the incoming message is then transmitted to a wireless network access point, such that an alert showing the alert level of the incoming message can be generated. It will be appreciated that the incoming message does not only include an actual message sent by another on-line party, but also includes a call from another party.

Abstract: A personalized control device having a security mechanism, which sets up identification condition and operation condition such as activation, allowable channel, time and program and accessible network for certain identification condition, such that only the user having the identification characteristics matching the identification condition can activated the device. In addition, once the device is activated, the operation mode of the device is still limited according to the identification characteristics of the user.

Abstract: A method for establishing telephone conversation through MSN platform between a calling end and a receiving end is dislcosed. To establish the conversation, a user account is required for each of the calling end and the receiving end. The MSN platform has to be activated and logged on at both the calling end and the receiving end. The calling end is dialed up to establish communication with the receiving end through the MSN platform. Upon reception of the dialing message, an alert signal at the receiving end. When an answering signal is transmitted from the receiving end to the calling end through the MSN platform, the conversation is commenced. Otherwise, a failure signal is displayed at the calling end.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for fast delivering an electronic mail via a message transceiver, such as cellular phones, personal data assistants and remote controls connected to a network. By pressing a shortcut key in electrical connection with an internal circuit of the message transceiver, the e-mail window is opened immediately. When the message transceiver is operating in the e-mail window, the shortcut key operates as a function key for inputting the symbol @, such that the user can easily input the e-mail address as desired.

Abstract: A method for building an electronic label within an electronic device, which packs and incorporates the electronic label into the electronic device, protects the electronic label from separation or damage caused by external force, and thereby facilitates the sale management or manufacture management of various electronic devices. The method includes preparing a chip area and a recognition area on a base body of an electronic device, orienting a IC chip and a transponder onto the base body, translating the relevant information of the electronic device into digital codes, burning the digital codes into the IC chip, wiring, and packing. Compared to the conventional arts which glue, one by one, a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag onto an electronic device, the manufacturing procedure is greatly simplified. The assembling cost and time are thereby reduced in a large scale.

Abstract: An automatic protection apparatus for an unattended computer includes a transmitter and a receiver for wireless transmission. The receiver is plugged in an output port of the computer host to receive the wireless electromagnetic wave or optical wave signal transmitted from the transmitter, while the transmitter uses a specific low power to generate and transmit such wireless signal. Therefore, the receiver can receive the wireless signal within a short distance range. The transmitter is carried by a user. When the transmitter is remote from the receiver by a distance exceeding the distance range, the receiver is operative to generate a control signal to the computer automatically, so as to force the computer into a specific protection status (such as shutdown, standby, sleep mode or screen saver activation).

Abstract: A cursor pointing device can be operated on a surface or a space to control the cursor on a computer display. A vibration sensor is used as a sensor to detect and translate the two-dimensional motion of the cursor pointing device. The vibration sensor is a two-axis accelerometer. When there is a movement of the cursor pointing device, a positioning signal can be generated by calculating the acceleration and the direction of the movement to be sent to the computer.

Abstract: A wireless cursor-controlling including a controller and a receiver is disclosed. The controller includes a main body and a cover. The main body includes a first containing space for placing at least one battery and a second containing space for placing the receiver. There is a holding portion formed in the second containing space. As such, it is convenient to combine the receiver in the controller for storing, carrying and using.

Abstract: A switching device includes two pushbutton switches to turn on/off an apparatus or to enable the apparatus to be turned on/off by a third switch by simultaneously pushing both two pushbutton switches for a predetermined time. It is suitable for the large apparatus as well as for the small and compact apparatus such as a remoter. Furthermore, it can also prevent child for purposely pushing the switch button. Therefore, it can provide an excellent protection to prevent error pushing.

Abstract: A hand-held wireless computer curser controlling device including a housing, a controller, a vibration sensor and transmitter is disclosed. The controller is installed in the housing for receiving an input and outputting a respective signal. The vibration sensor is installed in the housing and electrically connected to the controller for detecting a two-dimension movement of a user's hand to generate a locating signal to be inputted to the controller. The transmitter is electrically connected to the controller, for demodulating the outputting signal from the controller and transmitting a demodulated signal to a computer to control the movement of a computer curser.

Abstract: A portable device capable of storing data and receiving signals is provided. The portable device includes a connecting interface, an access circuit for implementing read or write commands, a memory device electrically connected to the access circuit for storing data, wherein the memory device receives the read or write commands from the access circuit, a receiving circuit for receiving a radio signal, and a control circuit electrically connected to the connecting interface. The control circuit controls the read or write commands and receives the radio signal transferred from the receiving circuit The control circuit transfers data through the connecting interface.

Abstract: The present invention provides a maneuvering device comprising a control circuit, a laser maneuvering key, a mode switching key, a maneuvering part, a laser light-emitting device, a light-emitting device, a mode light-emitting device, and a shell body. The maneuvering part is capable of selectively paging up/down or scrolling. The laser maneuvering key, the mode switching key, the maneuvering part, the laser light-emitting device, the light-emitting device, and the mode light-emitting device are disposed on the shell body and are connected with the control circuit. Thereby, a user can use the maneuvering device to directly remote-control a notebook computer to page up/down or scroll.
