Abstract: A command conversion device 14 is connected between an amplifier device 11 and a portable player 13. The amplifier device 11 sends/receives a plurality of types of first commands corresponding to a plurality of types of devices (e.g., CD players, MD recorders, tape recorders, etc.), and performs an operation based on a received first command. The portable player 13 sends/receives a second command, and performs an operation based on a received second command. The command conversion device 14 includes a selector for selecting a type of a first command, and a converter. When a first command of the type selected by the selector is received from the amplifier device 11, the converter converts the received first command into a second command, and sends the second command to the portable player 13.

Abstract: If a sub broadcast is unavailable so a reception means receives the main broadcast instead of the sub broadcast, reception of the sub broadcast is booked. When the sub broadcast is booked and the sub broadcast becomes available, the reception means automatically receives the sub broadcast booked instead of the main broadcast. Accordingly, reception of the sub broadcast can start automatically when the sub broadcast starts, without inputting instructions to select the sub broadcast repeatedly, whereby operation performed by a user can be simplified.

Abstract: A content selection device 1 of the present invention is connected to an audio player storing a content list being a list of tune titles, and to a display displaying a portion of the content list on an OSD screen. A total number identifying section 13 of the content selection device 1 identifies the total number of tunes in the content list. A skip value setting section 15 determines a skip value obtained by multiplying the identified total number of tunes by a predetermined skip rate. In response to the activation of a scroll button 50 on a remote controller 5, a scrolling section 16 identifies a set of tune titles to be displayed on the OSD screen after scrolling the portion of the content list being displayed on the OSD screen by the skip value. An OSD instruction section 11 produces an OSD signal for displaying the identified tune titles on the OSD screen, and sends the produced OSD signal to the display.
