The roller rung comprises a holder rung having a groove, a plurality of roller drums and a plurality of partition panels. The partition panels are mounted in the groove from above or an end of the groove and securely engaged with the holder rung with panel engagement means. The roller drums turnably engage the partition panels and can rotate freely and independently on axial engagement means substantially above the groove or partially protruding from the groove. Cable weight is securely borne by the partition panels which are supported by the sturdy holder rung, thus the roller rung of the present invention can additionally provide an improved support of cable weight.

A cable/pipe bed which utilizes the present invention comprises a plurality of cable/pipe bed sections (10a, 10b) each comprising two side rails (20a, 20b) and a floor (51, 52). Each side rail comprises an outer engagement protrusion or protrusions (21) to engage an inner engagement protrusion or protrusions (31) of the connector panel (30). The connector panel (30) holds two such side rails (20a, 20b) in longitudinal alignment, one (20a) securely and the other (20b) slidably to cope with thermal expansion and shrinkage of the side rails. Accidental separation of the side rails (20a, 20b) is adequately prevented by use of the connector belt or wire (40).

A cable rack is provided with at least one longitudinally and horizontally extending hook portion. Cable racks and fasteners used in a cable laying apparatus have corresponding hook portions so that the hook portions of the cable racks and those of the fasteners properly engage with each other. Threaded through screw holes may be provided in a direction other than the direction of the openings of the hook portions of fasteners so that the engagement between the hook portions of the fasteners and the hook portions of corresponding cable racks may be more secure in two directions as the screws having a flat bottom in the screw holes are screwed and press the cable racks.
