  • Publication number: 20040191398
Abstract: This invention relates to frozen surimi to be used as a basic ingredient of kamaboko (boiled or steamed salt-added surimi), chikuwa (grilled salt-added surimi shaped like a section of bamboo), and fish sausages, etc., which containing (1) 0.05˜0.3% by weight of at least one kind selected among basic amino acids as food additives and (2) 0.05˜0.3% by weight of at least one kind selected among carbonates and (3) at least one kind selected among saccharides, and provides frozen surimi which is phosphorus-free, improved in quality without using polyphosphates that have been conventionally used as additives, and has frozen storage stability and a salt-grinding property equivalent to those in a case using polyphosphates, and furthermore has quality higher than conventional frozen surimi.

  • Patent number: 5880314
Abstract: The present invention can provide cosmetic formulations comprising hydrochalcone compounds of the general formula (I): ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 are each independently H or --COR, and R is an alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms as effective components, which are highly effective in suppressing pigment deposition and depigmenting the skin and which are very safe to the skin and highly stable during storage.

  • Patent number: 5846904
Abstract: Described are a stick-shaped soil fumigant preparation and an application method therefor. The fumigant preparation comprises a water-soluble and/or biodegradable film and a soil sterilizer and/or nematocide hermetically packed in the form of a stick with the film. The soil sterilizer and nematocide are each in a liquid form at room temperature. The soil fumigant preparation according to the present invention remains suppressed in toxicity, volatility and irritation before application to the soil, but its active ingredient(s) are promptly released after application. In addition, the present invention makes it possible to provide a fumigant in such a form as permitting a substantial improvement in the efficiency of work by a fumigating worker and also to provide an effective application method therefor, without the need for any machine designed exclusively for fumigation.

  • Patent number: 5595836
Abstract: A manganese dry battery includes an anode zinc can made of a zinc alloy containing 0.001-0.5 wt. % of titanium and at least one element selected from the group consisting of 0.001-0.05 wt. % of indium and 0.001-0.05 wt. % of bismuth, or a zinc alloy further containing 0.01-0.4 wt. % of lead. Even without heavy metals such as Hg and Cd, the zinc alloy anode can has a corrosion-resistant property and mechanical strength equivalent to or greater than those of the conventional zinc anode can, thereby giving a low pollution zinc-carbon battery having a storage characteristic equivalent or superior to that of the conventional zinc anode can.

  • Patent number: 5300653
Abstract: A method is provided for the separation of at least one aromatic amino acid from an aqueous solution of mixed amino acids including the aromatic amino acid. The aqueous solution is brought into contact with a strongly acidic gel-type cation exchange resin which has been converted into a salt with an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal, whereby the aromatic amino acid is selectively sorbed by the cation exchange resin. The aromatic amino acid thus sorbed can then be desorbed from the ion exchange resin, preferably with water.
