  • Publication number: 20050230070
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an inkjet recording cast-coated paper wherein a coating solution containing a pigment and a binder resin is supplied to a base paper, a treatment solution having the function of solidifying the binder resin is supplied to the coating layer while it is still wet in order to solidify the coating layer, and the wet, solidified coating layer is brought into pressure contact with the mirror surface of a heated drum and dried to obtain a cast-coated layer. According to this invention, the treatment solution is supplied by the double pond method wherein the roll is enclosed by the base paper so as to bring the wet coating layer into contact, and ponds of treatment solution are formed both before and after the coating layer comes into contact with the roll.

  • Publication number: 20050179759
Abstract: This invention is an inkjet recording sheet having a high gloss cast coating recording layer containing a pigment and a binder comprising mainly polyvinyl alcohol on a support having air permeability, wherein the pigment is a mixture comprising alumina (A) and silica (B) having an average particle diameter of 100˜500 nm, blended in the proportion of A:B=95:5˜50:50 in terms of weight ratio. The silica (B) is preferably a silica to which cationic properties have been imparted, and the alumina (A) is preferably ?-alumina. Due to this, the gloss of a silver halide photograph together with excellent ink absorption properties and print density can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20050174414
Abstract: This invention is an inkjet recording medium formed by providing a recording layer comprising ?-alumina having an average particle diameter of 8 ?m or less as pigment, and a urethane resin having a glass transition temperature of 10° C.-50° C. together with polyvinyl alcohol as a binder, on a support having air permeability. The surface image clarity of the recording layer is 20% or more. The recording layer can be provided by the cast coating method.

  • Publication number: 20050157146
Abstract: An inkjet recording medium having a gloss comparable to that of a silver halide photograph is disclosed. This inkjet recording medium is prepared by coating a recording layer containing alumina and polyvinyl alcohol on a support having air permeability, applying a treatment solution containing a borate and a water-soluble magnesium salt while the recording layer is still wet, pressing the recording layer in contact with a heated mirror surface while the recording layer is still wet, and drying.

  • Publication number: 20050017454
Abstract: Interactive gaming systems and methods with haptic feedback are described. One described apparatus comprises: a portable manipulandum configured to simulate an element associated with a sports activity; a sensor in communication with the portable manipulandum and configured to detect a movement of the portable manipulandum; an actuator disposed in the portable manipulandum; and a processor in communication with the sensor and the actuator. The processor is configured to receive a sensor signal from the sensor associated with the movement of the portable manipulandum and to output a control signal to the actuator based at least in part on the sensor signal. The control signal is configured to cause the actuator to output a haptic feedback associated with the movement of the portable manipulandum, e.g., simulating an impact between the portable manipulandum and an object.

  • Publication number: 20040115369
Abstract: An inkjet recording medium having a recording layer comprising a pigment and a polyvinyl alcohol on a porous support, wherein a treatment solution having the action of solidifying the polyvinyl alcohol in the recording layer when it is in the wet state is coated thereupon, and the recording layer is then brought into pressure contact with a heated mirror surface while it is still wet. This treatment solution is a mixed solution of a borate/boric acid.

  • Patent number: 5308792
Abstract: A method for fabricating a semiconductor device comprises the steps of depositing a metal film for forming interconnections and/or electrodes on an insulating film formed on a substrate and then applying a hydrostatic pressure exceeding atmospheric pressure to the deposited metal film; or comprises the steps of forming a passivation film on a metal film for forming interconnections and/or electrodes, which is formed on a substrate with an insulating film, and then applying a hydrostatic pressure exceeding atmospheric pressure to the passivation film formed. The method makes it possible to substantially improve density and adhesion of the metal film and the insulating film and to produce semiconductor devices equipped with high-quality electrodes or interconnections at a relatively low cost.
