  • Patent number: 8172215
Abstract: In a sheet stacking apparatus, a sheet stacking unit stacks sheets conveyed by a sheet conveyance device. Three sheet extraction portions allow to selectively extract the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking unit from one of three directions including the downstream side of the sheet conveyance direction and two directions perpendicular to the sheet conveyance direction. A plurality of first detection sensors are provided in at least two of the three sheet extraction portions to detect an object that enters the sheet stacking unit. A second detection sensor detects the moving direction of the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking unit. A control device stops the operation of the sheet conveyance device when the first detection sensor detects the object, and disables the detection operation of the first detection sensor corresponding to the moving direction of the sheets when the second detection sensor detects the moving direction of the sheets.

  • Patent number: 7850166
Abstract: In a sheet delivery/guide apparatus, a sheet released from a convey device and falling piles on a first pile device. A first blowing device is arranged above the first pile device and blows toward the first pile device. An air controller selectively performs switching between an air supply state and an air supply stop state of the first blowing device for the sheet. A guide member is supported movably and guides the sheet that passes the first pile device while being held by the convey device. A guide member switching unit switches the guide member between a guide position to enter a sheet falling path, extending from the convey device to the first pile device, to guide the sheet, and a retreat position to retreat from the sheet falling path. A controller controls the air controller and the guide member switching unit on the basis of a convey speed of the convey device.

  • Patent number: 7845633
Abstract: An abnormal sheet delivery detection device includes a convey device, first pile device, noncontact-type detection unit, and first releasing unit. The convey device includes a sheet holding unit for holding a sheet, and conveys the sheet held by the sheet holding unit. The sheet released from the sheet holding unit is piled on the first pile device at a predetermined sheet release position. The noncontact-type detection unit arranged downstream of the sheet release position in a sheet convey direction detects a presence/absence of the sheet. The first releasing unit selectively switches between a first state wherein the sheet held by the sheet holding unit is released and piled on the first pile device, and a second state wherein the sheet held by the sheet holding unit is conveyed downstream in the sheet convey direction by the first convey device without releasing the sheet.

  • Publication number: 20070284802

  • Publication number: 20070012209
Abstract: A printing/coating machine includes a blanket cylinder, impression cylinder, ultraviolet dryer, detector, and actuating plate. The blanket cylinder is supported rotatably. One of ink and varnish is supplied to an outer surface of the blanket cylinder. The impression cylinder is supported rotatably in contact with the blanket cylinder and prints/coats a transfer target body under conveyance with respect to the blanket cylinder. The dryer opposes a portion of the impression cylinder downstream of a contact position, where the blanket cylinder and the impression cylinder are in contact with each other, in a rotational direction of the impression cylinder, and dries a printed/coated surface of the transfer target body under conveyance by irradiation with light. The detector is arranged in the vicinity of the contact position where the blanket cylinder and the impression cylinder are in contact with each other and detects an abnormal state.

  • Patent number: 5293820
Abstract: A plate exchange apparatus for a printing press includes a plate holding unit and positioning members. The plate holding unit is supported on frames such that a distal end thereof is movable between an operative position and a retracted position. At the operative position, the distal end of the plate holding unit comes close to plate lockup devices disposed in a gap of a plate cylinder. The distal end of the plate holding unit is retracted from the operative position to the storing position. The positioning members are provided at the distal end of the plate holding unit to be brought into contact with a member on the plate cylinder when the plate holding unit is located at the operative position.
