  • Patent number: 4856603
Abstract: The invention provides an electronic weighing instrument of the electrostatic capacity type which eliminates an influence on a measured weight value of a rate of change in oscillation frequency which is caused by environmental conditions such as an ambient temperature or a humidity. The electronic instrument comprises a pair of capacitors having capacitances which are differentially varied by a displacement caused by a load. The capacitors are alternately connected to the oscillating circuit at predetermined intervals of time, and each time either of the capacitors is connected to the oscillating circuit, an oscillation frequency is fetched from the oscillating circuit. Then, a difference and a sum between two different oscillation frequencies successively fetched from the oscillating circuit are calculated, and the difference is divided by the sum to obtain a measured weight value.

  • Patent number: 4505217
Abstract: A rigid marine sail comprises a vertical mast secured onto a deck of a ship; at least one pivot shaft provided substantially in parallel with the mast; a left sail portion and a right sail portion pivotally secured respectively to the left side and the right side of the mast in parallel therewith through the at least one pivot shaft; and at least one drive mechanism for symmetrically pivoting the left sail portion and the right sail portion relative to the mast around the pivot shaft between a deployed position and a folded position.

  • Patent number: 4123066
Abstract: The device for automatically turning a disc over includes a disc grasping mechanism which comprises a main arm, sub-arms mounted on the main arm to grasp the disc by the circumferential edge with the aid of springs, and electromagnets disposed to control each sub-arm against the action of the springs. The device further includes an automatic mechanism for turning the disc over and which comprises a main rotary shaft connected to the main arm at its middle portion and supported by an anti-friction bearing, a cam means disposed to swing the rotary shaft, a driving shaft with the cam means and a gear fixedly mounted on, the gear being in mesh with another gear fixedly mounted on the main rotary shaft to rotate the latter gear, and a driving motor operatively connected to the driving shaft.

  • Patent number: 4090656
Abstract: A soldering iron for soldering a plurality of wires to metal liners in respective channels of a connector. The soldering iron can be used with a known wire positioning device. The iron is made from a plate of heat conducting material. A plurality of projections extend fron an end face of the plate. The projections are spaced to correspond to the spacing of the metal liners in the channels of the connector which is being joined to the plurality of conductors. The sides of the projections converge toward the extremities of the projections. These converging sides are plated with a material to prevent oxidation and to cause the solder to wet the sides. The projections are dimensioned so that their extremities can be positioned within the channels while the converging sides contact respective edges of the metal liners in the channels. In such position, heat is conducted by the iron in order to solder the wires placed within the channels to the metal liners.

  • Patent number: 4066741
Abstract: Hydrogen is produced by the thermal decomposition of water at temperatures of 1000.degree. C or below by making use of iron salts and carbon dioxide, which are circulated in closed circuits in the reaction system. The only raw material to be supplied from an external source is water; all intermediates are circulated in the reaction system. A nuclear reactor may be used as a heat source for the reaction.
