  • Patent number: 5103089
Abstract: An angular displacement detecting device which is provided with a tubular casing having a chamber in which a liquid is sealed, a floating body having a magnetic characteristic, the floating body being disposed in the liquid sealed in the chamber and being supported for rotation about a predetermined rotational axis, a magnetism generating member for cooperating with the floating body to constitute a magnetic circuit, and a detector for detecting a relative rotation about the rotational axis between the floating body and the tubular casing. The floating body is formed of either a material in which a magnetic material powder with a particle size of 10 .mu.m or less is dispersedly mixed with a thermoplastic, high polymeric organic material or a material in which a magnetic material powder whose particles are coated with a silane or titanium coupling agent is mixed with a thermoplastic, high polymeric organic material.

  • Patent number: 5096309
Abstract: A hydrodynamic bearing system comprises a shaft, a sleeve rotatably fitted on the shaft and a thrust plate fixed to the sleeve and acting to support one end of the shaft in a thrust direction. First shallow grooves are formed in at least one of fitted surfaces of the shaft and of the sleeve to support one of the shaft and the sleeve with respect to the other in a radial direction, and a second shallow groove is formed in at least one of the shaft and the thrust plate with respect to the other in a thrust direction. The thrust plate is made of material including resin material as a main component and has an outside periphery portion with a thickness thicker than that of an inside periphery portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 4708457
Abstract: This invention provides an apparatus for feeding a flexible, sheet-like transfer medium which comprises an image carrier for carrying a transferable toner image, transfer means for transferring the toner image to the transfer medium by exposing it to an electric charge, guide means arranged to guide the transfer medium to be fed, and a semi-conductive support member for supporting the guide means on an electrically-grounded system body so as to electrically connect the guide means and the body. The apparatus of this invention is capable of preventing the formation of transfer voids and toner smudges on the transfer medium such as might be caused by the leakage of electric charge and the phenomenon of floating toner clinging to the medium.
