  • Publication number: 20030163529
Abstract: Provided is a communication apparatus capable of affording an equivalent level of security for both facsimile transmission and electronic mail without the user needing to be aware of the difference between facsimile transmission and electronic mail. When document information is designated as being confidential (“YES” at S104 in FIG. 2) and transmission by E-mail is specified (S108, S109) at the time of a transmission, the document is encrypted and transmitted (S109-S111). When transmission by facsimile communication is specified (S108-S112), on the other hand, the document is transmitted utilizing a private security function (S114).

  • Patent number: 6499055
Abstract: If e-mail awaiting transmission from a client such as a personal computer or workstation exists when a connection has been made from a dial-up server such as an Internet service provider to the Internet via a PSTN or ISDN, the e-mail is transmitted to a mail server on the Internet. If e-mail to the client exists in a mail server on the Internet, this e-mail is received and then forwarded.

  • Patent number: 5668637
Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, when a copying operation is to be conducted with a scanner and a printer having different read speed and record speed, a read document sheet feed unit having two document sheet feed speeds, one synchronized with a read interval of the image sensor and the other synchronous with a print interval of the pointer, a signal generation unit for generating a read suppress signal at a predetermined time interval and a read suppress unit for suppressing the reading of the image sensor in accordance with the read suppress signal are provided. Thus, an the copy mode, the read document sheet is fed at a speed equal to the printer speed and the image read by the image sensor is thinned so that the copy operation is attained without deterioration of image quality with a small capacity of buffer memory and simple control.

  • Patent number: 5592303
Abstract: A facsimile apparatus comprises a reading unit such as an image sensor to read an image of an original to be transmitted, a transmitter to transmit the image read by the image sensor, an extraction circuit to extract the image in an area shown by a mark written by a marker pen in the image which was read by the image sensor and is transmitted by the transmitter, a memory to store the image extracted by the extraction circuit, a detector to detect that a predetermined amount of image was stored in the memory; and a recorder such as a printer to print the image stored in the memory in accordance with the detection of the detector. The extraction circuit detects the presence or absence of the mark in the predetermined area on the original and extracts the image on the line at which the mark was detected.

  • Patent number: 5242044
Abstract: In a carriage for conveying an article such as an automobile body on a coating line, a sprocket on the carriage engages an endless chain running along the path of carriage movement. The sprocket causes the article to rotate on an axis parallel to the direction of movement of the carriage. A pendulum weight is provided to cause the article normally to assume an upright condition. A lever on the sprocket shaft engages a cam as the sprocket approaches engagement with the endless chain, and causes the weight to swing in one direction. When the lever clears the cam, the weight returns by gravity, causing the sprocket to begin rotating so that it smoothly engages the chain without shock. The operation of the lever, cam and weight also impart rotation to article to be painted before the sprocket engages the chain, thereby eliminating shocks in the rotating movement of the article, which could otherwise cause sagging or running of the paint.

  • Patent number: 5220991
Abstract: In a coating line conveyor for an automobile body, in which the body is movable along a path and rotated on an axis parallel to the path, the article is stopped in its erect attitude without impact force. The article is supported so that the combined center of gravity of the article and its supports is located directly below the axis of rotation of the article when the article is erect. Rotation is stopped by removing rotating power from the article supports in response to a signal generated by a sensor when the article is in its erect condition. The article then rocks back and forth under its own inertia and rapidly approaches a stable erect condition by a naturally damped oscillating motion.

  • Patent number: 4903659
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a carburetor of a combustion engine includes: a throttle-opening detector switch for detecting that a throttle valve of the carburetor is opened within a predetermined degree of throttle opening; an idle-up mechanism for making the throttle valve perform an idling-up operation; a fuel-cut mechanism for cutting a slow speed fuel supply of the carburetor; and a control unit adapted to allow the idle-up mechanism to perform the idling-up operation under a predetermined load applied to the engine and allow the fuel-cut mechanism to cut the slow speed fuel supply at a reduced speed of the engine when the throttle-opening detector switch detects that the throttle valve of the carburetor is within the predetermined degree of throttle opening. The control unit also includes an arrangement responsive to detection that the throttle valve is not within the predetermined range for inhibiting the idle-up mechanism.
