    Abstract: A flat conductor connector includes terminals, a housing, a slider movable between a retreat position and an advance position, and a detection member detecting the advance position. The housing includes a locking portion lockable to a flat conductor. The locking portion protrudes in an upper-lower direction. The slider allows at the retreat position, and restricts at the advance position, removal of the flat conductor. The slider includes an abutting portion and an arm portion. The abutting portion restricts movement of the flat conductor. The arm portion is lockable to the housing when the slider is at the advance position. The detection member attached to the slider moves around a detection position, and includes a restriction portion. The detection member at the detection position makes the restriction portion abuttable with the arm portion The detection member absent from the detection position prohibits the restriction portion from abutting the arm portion.

The housing includes a receiving portion receiving the flat conductor and a locking protruding portion upwardly protruding in the receiving portion and lockable to the flat conductor. The slider is attached to the housing and movable in the front-back direction between a retreat position and an advance position, and includes a first abutting portion to abut the flat conductor at the advance position and a second abutting portion to abut the flat conductor at the retreat position. The second abutting portion is on a front side from the first abutting portion. An upper end of the second abutting portion is at a position identical to or higher than the upper end of the locking protruding portion.

Each terminal includes an attachment portion attached, on one end side, in a fixed manner to the housing, a contact arm portion extending in the front-back direction on the other end side to contact a circuit portion of the flat conductor, and an elastically-displaceable elastic portion provided between the attachment portion and the contact arm portion. The elastic portion is elastically displaceable at least in one of the front-back direction, the terminal alignment direction, or an upper-lower direction which is a flat conductor thickness direction. The contact arm portion is elastically displaceable at least in the upper-lower direction. When the elastic portion is elastically displaced, the contact arm portion is displaceable together with the elastic portion.
