  • Publication number: 20070068198
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a glass base material is provided. The glass base material according to the present invention can prevent an initial glass material from being scratched by a gripping portion and from being unfastened and can manufacture in a stable state without deflecting the initial glass material during depositing glass particles when the initial glass material is gripped by metal chucks, and the glass particle are deposited on the periphery of the initial glass material. A cushioning material of which surface has irregularity is intervened between the initial glass material and the gripping portion of a gripping device when the initial glass material is rotated with gripped by the gripping device and the glass particles are deposited on the periphery of the staring glass material. The cushioning material is preferably an elastic material having the thickness twice as long as the depth of the irregularity on the surface of the initial glass material.

  • Patent number: 6640589
Abstract: The glass base material drawing apparatus for heating and drawing a glass base material has a storage unit for storing the glass base material having an opening unit that is opened along the longitudinal direction of the storage unit when the glass base material is placed inside the storage unit, a heating unit for heating the glass base material that has been stored inside the storage unit via the opening unit, and a pull-out unit for pulling out the glass base material heated by the heating unit. The opening unit may be opened in such a manner that the glass base material is moved from a side direction of the storage unit into the interior of the storage unit. A main axis for supporting the glass base material is connected to the glass base material. The storage unit may have a penetration hole through which the main axis is inserted when the opening unit is closed.

  • Patent number: 6592533
Abstract: In an air massager, a seat, backrest, etc. are provided with cushion units. Each cushion unit includes a pad member, consisting mainly of a fiber-filler, and airbag apparatus put on top of the pad member. The airbag apparatus can be inflated or deflated as air is fed into or discharged from it by means of a pumping device. A compressible distance in the thickness-direction of the pad member is greater than a maximum inflated thickness of the airbag apparatus. The pad member has a thickness, softness, and restorability such that it allows the inflated airbag apparatus to go down into the fiber-filler and incline along a seater's body surface when the airbag apparatus is pressed by the body surface.
