Patent number: 5381838Abstract: In a fuel inlet device for a fuel tank, a flap valve is provided at an end of a fuel filler tube opening into the fuel tank, and a float which rises with a rise in a surface level of the fuel in the tank closes this flap valve when the fuel surface level has reached a prescribed level. Thus, when the surface level of the fuel in the fuel tank has reached a prescribed level, the flap valve linked with the float is closed, and prevents any more fuel from being filled into the fuel tank because the filling nozzle detects this rise in the surface level of the fuel in the filler tube, and stops filling any more fuel into the tank. Therefore, it is possible to connect the breather tube in the fuel tank directly with a canister device without the intervention of a relief valve, and the internal pressure of the fuel tank can be maintained substantially no higher than the atmospheric pressure. Thus, the release of fuel vapor from the filler cap can be avoided.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 1994Date of Patent: January 17, 1995Assignees: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, Nifco, Inc.Inventors: Hideo Watanabe, Shoji Takahashi, Takeshi Suzuki, Masatoshi Oikawa

Patent number: 5034178Abstract: A process and apparatus for manufacturing an embossed article of synthetic resin including heating a synthetic resin sheet to a softening temperature; pressing the heated synthetic resin sheet on an embossing die by a press die. The embossing die being made by an electro-chemical molding process and having an embossing surface with an embossing pattern thereon and a multitude of fine vacuum pores distributed uniformly over the entire embossing surface. Forcing the synthetic resin sheet against the embossing surface by applying suction through the fine vacuum pores to imprint the embossing pattern onto the synthetic resin sheet. The press die having an undercut shaping portion. Applying blowing pressure through the embossing dies and applying a vacuum through the undercut shaping portion. Thus, releasing the synthetic resin sheet from the embossing surface and forming an undercut in the synthetic resin sheet.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1989Date of Patent: July 23, 1991Assignee: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Toshiyuki Kinugasa, Tamio Furuya, Yoshiki Ishige, Nobuo Kikuchi, Shoji Takahashi

Patent number: 5032779Abstract: A drive circuit for a stepping motor used for seeking the reading/writing head of a floppy disk or the like. The stepping motor is smoothly driven by inserting an inner step pulse between the input step pulses when excitation signals are supplied to the stepping motor on the basis of the step pulses from the host computer. Since the interval between the step pulses output from the host computer is different each time, the interval between the step pulses is measured and the timing for generating an inner step pulse is determined on the basis of the measured value.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1990Date of Patent: July 16, 1991Assignee: Citizen Watch Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shoji Takahashi

Patent number: 4999725Abstract: A read/write head carrying mechanism for a floppy disk drive. Upper and lower heads are brought into close contact with both sides of a floppy disk in a loaded state, and reciprocate in the radial direction of the floppy disk so as to be positioned at a desired track. The lower head is secured to a carriage, while the upper head to an upper arm, which is swingable with respect to the carriage. The carriage reciprocates along a single guide rail, which is spaced apart from and disposed parallel with a head moving path. The carriage is supported by the single guide rail, with the result that the carriage and the upper arm as a whole form a carriage assembly which swings with the guide rail as a fulcrum. The upper and lower heads move vertically by very small amounts by following the fluctuation of the floppy disk, thereby causing the heads and the floppy disk to be brought into close contact with each other.Type: GrantFiled: July 20, 1989Date of Patent: March 12, 1991Assignee: Citizen Watch Co., Ltd.Inventor: Shoji Takahashi
