  • Patent number: 5282400
Abstract: A controlling device for controlling the transmission ratio of a non-stage transmission in a vehicle. The transmission ratio is controlled according to a forecast output power of the vehicle. The output power is forecast based on an operating condition of the vehicle, such as atmospheric pressure. The control considers various operating parameters. A comparison of a predetermined ratio of increase of engine speed or throttle opening with actual ratios of increase of engine speed or throttle opening may be made in controlling the transmission ratio. An uneven road surface is detected and a transmission ratio of the transmission is controlled accordingly to substantially eliminate hunting. An engine speed is controlled so that the engine speed may not exceed a predetermined rotational speed when the transmission gear ratio is fixed.

  • Patent number: 5024113
Abstract: Apparatus is described for use in a vehicle having a forward motion transmission operatively connected between an engine and the output shaft connecting the drive wheel and a reverse drive mechanism arranged to be operatively connected to the output shaft for driving the vehicle in reverse. A speed change shift device is arranged to operate the forward motion transmission and the reverse drive mechanism so as to prevent simultaneous operation of the two apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5008097
Abstract: An aqueous solution containing a new ferric ferrous salt Fe.sub.2 Cl.sub.5 and a method of producing the same are provided. Said aqueous solution contianing said Fe.sub.2 Cl.sub.5 may include both the aqueous solution of said Fe.sub.2 Cl.sub.5 and the aqueous mixture of said Fe.sub.2 Cl.sub.5 and a salt of alkali metals or a compound containing a metal which belongs to zinc family. A method of producing said Fe.sub.2 Cl.sub.5 comprises dissolving ferric chloride into aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and then neutralizing said resulting aqueous solution by hydrochloric acid or dissolving ferrous sulfate into aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, and a method of producing said aqueous mixture comprises adding said Fe.sub.2 Cl.sub.5 into an aqueous solution of strong acid and then adding a salt of alkali metals or a compound containing a metal which belongs to zinc family. Said aqueous solution containing said Fe.sub.2 Cl.sub.

  • Patent number: 4454476
Abstract: In a method of and apparatus for synthetic testing of a multi-break circuit breaker having a metallic tank and a series connection of interrupter units, and a non-grounded and a grounded lead conductors connected to the first and the second ends of the series connection, a short-circuit current is made to flow through the series connection, the circuit breaker is then operated, and upon completion of the interruption of the current, a first transient recovery voltage is supplied to the non-grounded lead conductor and is applied, in effect, across a first one of the interrupter units at the second end or across a train of interrupter units including said first one of the interrupter unit, and, simultaneously, a second transient recovery voltage is supplied to the tank, the first and the second transient recovery voltages having the same polarity and the second transient recovery voltage having substantially the same magnitude as the whole transient recovery voltage to be applied across all the interrupter unit
