Abstract: An IC-card holding apparatus improving the availability, the convenience, and the usefulness of a non-contact IC card. The IC-card holding apparatus may communicate with a non-contact IC card held therein to read out information from the non-contact IC card and obtain the type of the non-contact IC card held therein and usage history information. The IC-card holding apparatus may display an image corresponding to the type of the non-contact IC card. The usage history may also be read out and displayed. For example, information (e.g., place name or shop name) about a position where the non-contact IC card has been used may be displayed and/or the use position may be presented on a map image.

Abstract: An information processing method, includes steps of detecting a use range set for one of digital money expressed in digital data and a use right of the digital money, and a use status of one of the digital money and the digital money right when one of the digital money and the digital money use right is used, determining whether the use status falls within the use range, and permitting the use of one of the digital money and the digital money use right if the use status falls within the use range or not permitting the use of one of the digital money and the digital money use right if the use status falls out of the use range.

Abstract: In order to provide a lightweight, low-cost portable image processing device capable of reading the front and reverse side of a manuscript or printing on the front and reverse side of paper in one loading there is provided one or more read heads and/or print heads, one or more platen rollers and a guide mechanism for guiding paper in a forward direction.

Abstract: A device and method for inspecting any fault in an active matrix substrate which includes a transparent conductive film on the substrate, an orientation film on the transparent conductive film, a polymer sheet opposite the orientation film with a liquid crystal sandwiched therebetween, a spacer for maintaining a space between the orientation film and the polymer sheet. An electrical modulation is observed in the liquid crystal by applying a voltage across the pixel electrode and the transparent conductive film.
