Patent number: 5593293Abstract: A hand mechanism for a robot is attached to the distal end of an arm portion of a robot and has independent modules for executing predetermined elementary motions, which modules can be combined with each other in selected arbitrary combinations to attain desired elementary motions. The hand mechanism includes a holder module which includes a fixing member fixed to the arm portion, an attaching plate to be attached to other modules and a coupling mechanism for coupling the fixing member and the attaching plate. The coupling mechanism includes angle an adjustment pin for adjusting the attaching angle of the attaching plate about the arm portion, and a shear pin bolt for releasing a coupling state between the fixing member and the attaching plate upon application of a shock to the hand mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 1992Date of Patent: January 14, 1997Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masaki Machino, Sumiyoshi Ito, Shojiro Danmoto, Fumio Kanno, Takao Komiya

Patent number: 5357675Abstract: In order to provide an automatic assembling method and apparatus for automatically assembling an assembly consisting of a compression spring, a retainer for holding the compression spring in a compressed state, and cotters for setting the retainer in a holding state so as to cause a shaft member slidably or pivotally arranged in a main body to perform a predetermined operation, the cotters are held in a supply posture state to the shaft member, the retainer is held at a position escaped from a cotter fitting or assembling position of the shaft member against the biasing force of the compression spring, the cotters in the supply posture state are supplied to the cotter assembling position of the shaft member, and the retainer is moved to the cotter assembling position by releasing the biasing force of the compression spring.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1993Date of Patent: October 25, 1994Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shojiro Danmoto, Takeshi Yakou

Patent number: 5315746Abstract: A method for inserting an elastic ring having a peripheral opening within a workpiece. The elastic ring is first supplied to a ring receiving member, which then delivers the ring receiving member to an operating position. At the operating position, the diameter of the elastic ring is reduced by engaging portions on the ring receiving member. The diametrically reduced ring is then transferred to a finger member, which holds the ring in its reduced state and inserts the ring within the workpiece. The elastic ring is then released from the finger member and allowed to naturally expand within the workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1993Date of Patent: May 31, 1994Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masaki Machino, Shojiro Danmoto

Patent number: 5217725Abstract: An injection molding apparatus uses motors to effect measuring and kneading of a material to be molded and injection driving. The amount of movement of a rotary shaft or rectilinearly moving means connected to a screw is detected by a sensor, and the driving of the volume measuring motor and the injection motor is effected by the output of the sensor.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1991Date of Patent: June 8, 1993Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ryohei Inaba, Masaaki Kumamura, Shojiro Danmoto, Mitsuo Arai, Yozo Tobo, Hirofumi Sugawara, Tadanobu Miyazaki

Patent number: 5143736Abstract: An injection molding apparatus includes a screw housed in a heating cylinder, a rotator for rotating the screw, a linear mover for moving the screw linearly, a motor for driving the rotator, a driver for driving the linear mover, and a base member for supporting the screw, the rotator, the linear mover, the motor and the driver. The screw, the linear mover and the rotator are supported by the base member along a vertical line against the ground. In the injection molding apparatus is a nozzle touch mechanism which includes a support member mounted on the base member, and a member for mounting a die member mounted on the support member to support the die member. The die member is mounted by the member for mounting the die member so that a molding material entrance port of the die member engages an injection port of the heating cylinder.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1990Date of Patent: September 1, 1992Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Masaaki Kumamura, Ryohei Inaba, Shojiro Danmoto, Mitsuo Arai
